Cold Air Intake and warranty
well, unless you're very mechanically inclined or have deep pockets, I wouldn't mess with the warranty, that's kinda the point in buying a brand new car
I know I'm going to ride the edge of warranty-legal, drop in the TRD supercharger (whenever it comes out) and change out as many parts as I can for more HP without stepping on my home-dealership's toes, my dream is to settle at about 250HP so I can be up there in power-weight ratio of say, a 3.2L v6 acura TL

Yeah for me, it will be intake and exhaust to increase HP. I'm not really a know it all when it comes to ways to increase HP, but I do know alittle. Does anyone have any ideas of how to gain HP (besides Super charger). That wont mess with the warranty. Im think of small things. How about the turbinator
I see this ad on all the sites, I wonder if it does squat on a new car. here is the site http://www.turbonator.com/
Like RoryC says the AEM intake has a bypass valve, so you sill not get any water in the engine, if you do it will be cover, but the chances are very very small like 1 to a billion, if you guys go to the aem website there's something about the bypass valve, one of the magazines did an article on it when it came out. They ot the engineer that came out with the desing to use his car to test the valve, the guy has an supercharge NSX, im not sure about the supercharge but anyways, they took the fishtank and fill it with water and had the car on a dyno and with the car at full throtle inmerse the intake on water but no water got into the engine, the valve worked.
i dont think its available yet (aem). i spoke with them 3 weeks ago, and they said they're still working on the special filter (trying to match the emssions friendly filter in the stock intake). and i think someone from aem posted in another intake thread, that its not available yet. only for the xb and xa at the dealers. has anyone asked how much the intake will be selling for? i got quoted $400 plus install at the dealer. they also told me its $100 per hour of labor. thats steep. thats why i just bought the k&n intake. i'll just be switching them out anytime i have to go to the dealer for warranty work. no big deal. takes maybe 15-30minutes to switch. if anything the aem bypass valve will work on k&n... as well as injen.
from what the aem rep told me at the sema show was that they designed the intake on a preporduction car and when the final tc hit the market the cai had clearance problemswith one of the reservoirs that had slightly moved between the preproduction and final version. I don't know if that was an excuse or not but thats what i was told. he didn't give any indication to when it will be out... maybe first of year he said.

You certainly don't need 250hp for that. At that power, you'd have about 11.62 hp/pound, compared to 13.24 hp/pound for the acura. You could get the same level of power/weight, with a much more extreme gearing setup to boot, with about 220hp.
