Default collectable cars

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/07053/763991-185.stm

Thought I'd post a article in the local paper. Wish I had the cash just to store my tC and not drive it.

I can see that happening! xB outsells xA 2:1 so xA is rare compared to xB.

People will end up hating me.. cause I will probably own an FJ at some point, and it will get bashed to death I cant stand to see people buy them just to have a cool suv, they are built to take some beating and that is what I would do with one Screw collecting it!

I can see the scions being collectables one day, they were kind of a different thing when they came out. I dont know that they will ever be worth a lot, since everyone and thier dog owns one these days it seems.

Anyone who bashes a FJ is a person who hasnt driven one. I got one as a loaner once and all my friends called it ugly until I let them take it for a spin. It wasnt fast but there was plenty of torque coming from the V6 and the brakes were absolutely amazing. Seriously, people have to get to the toyota dealer and take it for a spin before dissing it.

its like alot of new vehicles the companies are coming out with. they are ugly at first (to some people), but grow on you later, but they are full of cool features. they have more hp, mpg, interior space, and new inovative features. i just wish they'd stop making all the new cars so ugly, or at least uglier than the previous generation. it seems like alot of car manufacturers are doing that though...

Well.. when I say "bashing" an FJ, I mean it in the good way... by taking it off road and driving the hell outta it

OH, heck ya!! Just be careful. The FJ is in the shop right now because dirt got between the belts and the bearings, so we had to take it in before it seized!! It is a problem all FJ's have been having, and I would advise you not to buy one until that problem is resolved. We are lucky they took ours under warranty because since we went offroading (pretty much every other day!!) it is classified as "users fault". So they said they would warranty it this one time, but if it happens again, too bad. Which I find funny because all the pictures advertising the FJ are all on the dirt. I have never seen a pic of the FJ on the normal road..... so I don't know why Toyota is being so stuffy about it!! Rediculous!!

But on the other hand, it is an OFFROADING MONSTER!!!! It will tackle any trail you put before it! If you lift it about 3 inches, it can do anything a Jeep can do!!! I love that car!!

Yeah, crawling around under one at the dealership I do see where mud and rocks could have a way of getting to some not so good places, so it still has its flaws. But I am still in love with them. In all reality, I will probably end up buying another ride for my fiance when the time comes (if she ever gets tired of our 4runner.. she loves that thing) and making a toy out of the 4Runner. But the FJ I think has much more potential with the way it is set up. Just hard to spend that much money on something I know will get beat on harshly

But I have to say, the Runner is the perfect balance of "suv" like qualities (ride, comfort, reliability) and something that still has a solid build and can take some punishment. I will never regret buying that one. The V8 would have been nice (ours is an 01), but I still love it to death.

Actually, the fan on the front of the motor is the problem. If you are going through a mud puddle, the mud will get in the fan and get sprayed all over the motor. So that's the problem. The easy way to fix that is by taking off that fan, and putting a seperate one in it's place that is attatched to a switch, so when you go through mud, you turn it off and turn it back on when you're done. But we'll see.

Ya, the FJ is beautiful and comfortable on the road, but is a beast when you get it on the dirt as well. It is balanced perfectly!
