comming on 60K mi, any issues i should have checked?
well, as of Sept 14, I will have had this tC for 2 years, and I'm betting I'll hit 60,000mi on the odo. I bought the car with 2 miles on it and I have the papers to prove it. thanks to atlanta I've driven A LOT but this car has been solid, even after my run ins with deers, hit and runs and easter present on my front driver's side. I got syn trans fluid at 15K so I figure that's still solid I want to see what other problems people may have had around this many miles. I'm still in limbo about selling the car (there's a slim chance I can get ANY deal from a dealer.)
brakes were replaced at 55K. belt's still good. plugs and coolant still good. battery's good.

I've passed th 80k mark and the only things I had to replace were
- Tires (I got 60K miles on the stock Yoko's).
My brakes are just starting to go. I drive pretty spirited but not like a manical robot.
I'll prob. switch over to syn tranny fluid at the 100k mark. Apparently the fluids are good up to then. Hell I never changed mine. Change the engine coolant w/ Toyota Red/Pink fluid at a 50/50 ratio (try to use nonminealized water).
Obviously our timing chain never needs to be replaced unless there's a malfunction. As for plugs and what not I'd changed them. Maybe take a look at the plug wires as well. Even if they are a lil' spendy.

Yeah Im at 80,000 on mine i just replaced both wheel bearings on both sides two months back but thats New England for ya. I have only done the tires, which was around 50,000 but thats it for repairs. BTW the plug wires i dont believe you ever have to replace.
There's a way to check if the plug wires are still good.
Gotta take them off and check the resistance with an ohm meter and see if it's still within spec.
I'm not sure what the resistance is supposed to be on these particular wires, but a little digging and you can find out.

I just had my 60K service done today and everything checked out fine. Except for my moonroof blowing up, the car has been amazingly trouble free. Definitely the best I've ever had.
Brakes looked good, nothing needed to be touched, even my stock Potenzas with 60K miles on them have tons of tread left! I am going to replace the tires in a couple of months, but other than that, the tC is rock solid.
