Default Crankcase- what is that?

i know this might sound really newbish but i got a bottle of slick 50 and it says to put the contents of the bottle in the crankcase, does that mean the same place where engine oil goes?

It does but I would highly suggest not resorting to adding oil additives to a new engine. Switch to synthetic if you are worried about engine wear.

I wouldnt use it either. Running synthetic with proper change intervals is more than enough. The only oil additives I have ever used was Lucas, but that was on older V8s. I hear from some that it may not be the best for newer 4 bangers though. My Saturn is at 170k with no engine problems running synthetic with no additives.

With a Toyota engine, you should never need it. Wait till you have 7,500-10,000 miles, switch to Mobil-1. Change the oil every 3,000-5,000 miles and the car should easily get 150,000+ worry free miles.
