Default Crashed My tC!

I was on the freeway i slowed down to make an exit i was going speed limit by the way and my wheels started to skid and i lost control and ran into the railing. Been a member of this forum before the car even came out i concluded that it might of been the ABS break problem ive heard of plenty of times when viewing the forums. Not know to much about how ABS works and if it was truly the problem i would like to ask someone here if that sounds like the problem many have been encountering with their ABS breaks. I want to know this so i can talk to the Toyota tomorrow and let them know about this problem but i since i dont know to much about ABS i am unsure of the true cause of my accident.

I know i'm nit picking but this goes for everyone. We're all relatively educated here. I'm assuming everyone is atleast a Sophmore in highschool here. So we should all know that it's BRAKES not Breaks. Let take a half a second and think about what your posting.

we don't have black boxes in our cars, the processor system on the vehicle makes note of malfunctions or severe changes (like ABS kicking on unreasonably or airbags deploying, or not when they should, etc)

and you said you slowed down to take an offramp and THEN you said you were doing the speed limit of 65 - i've never in my life seen an offramp with a speed limit of 65, not even a merge route at 65mph - and if you were slowing down, you would've known the ABS kicked in because the pedal would vibrate forcefully and you would hear a sort of grinding sound coming from the engine, it's quite loud. If you've been a member of the forum since before the car came out, you must've gotten it quite early - how many miles are on your tires? do you screw around with them and do burnouts/squeel from a stop etc? if the treds are worn down you'd have much, much less traction - also the stock tires really, really suck in the rain, if it was raining or wet outside you could've been hydroplaning.

just don't be so quick to say "I hit a guard rail because I skidded out, OH there's a problem I could blame it on" - because they could probably check it, it's better to say you don't know what happened than say something it wasn't. Not calling BS on the situation, but if it was ABS you'd know, it scared the hell out of me the first time it kicked in.

I say if it's really bad, claim it on your insurance, don't take assumption of what happened, don't blame it on anyone or anything else without undeniable proof, and I'm really, really, really sorry about your tC - mine is in the shop as I type this because someone SLAMMED into my car in the parking lot where I work, no note, no nothing, just my car shoved over double-parked and the rear-right smashed in. I have no idea what happened, so that's what I told the police, my insurance company, etc. I could've told them it got hit, but I don't know that so I didn't say that. Goodluck and I hope it gets fixed OK.

Its called oversteer. You said u were doing the speed limit(65), nobody does 65 on an off or on ramp. Our car likes to have the rear end really give out on us, so i'm sure u were going to fast and the rear end sort of lost grip and you couldn't recover. You didn't say it was raining so i'm led to believe by your post u just lost control of the car. Now please don't go sue Toyota for driver mistake if u please. Plus the spelling of Brakes(breaks) lets me to believe your not to bright. Sorry i'm an _______, i'll say it before anyone else does.

woo, givs, ah, ____

ABS isnt going to save you from slideing if your already in a slide. It may help you regain control but not all the time. In your case, it didnt work.

You have any pics

Really??? I tried to get the back sideways on these S-bends near my house and our cars pretty solid. Might be the TRD springs??

When I had about 500 or so miles on mine I was just out driving one night with my bro and went around a pretty sharp uphill left turn going about 45ish or so and drifted around that corner, scary at first but actually regained control (especially for being a total begginer to fast sporty cars) fairly easily, came 4 inches from the curb while sliding but still very fun. and no it wasnt wet.

and yes I've found that the tC is real solid in the turns, (mine was stock) but I'll have my eibach springs soon and then go into those turns even better.

Let us does not equal let's. Let's is not a contraction sorry. The grammer this person used was ridiculous.

If you don't know how ABS works, you should not be driving a car with it, frankly you probably should not be driving at all. Slowing down for an off ramp begins long before the exit lane. You probably were going way too fast, lost control, panicked, oversteered to correct and hit the guardrail. It is most likely not an ABS problem, it is most likely, like 95% of all auto accidents, DRIVER ERROR...

It should read like this......

I was on the freeway AND I slowed down to GET OFF AT THE next exit. I was going the speed limit, AND THEN, my wheels started to skid. I lost control and ran into the railing. I HAVE been a member of this forum SINCE before the tC came out. I concluded THAT THE PROBLEM might HAVE been the ABS BRAKE SYSTEM problem. I've HEARD ABOUT IT plenty of times when READING the forums. I DO NOT or even DON't know TOO much about how ABS works. IT it was the problem, I would like to know. I want to ask someone on THE BOARDS TO SEE if that sounds like the problem THAT SOME HAVE ALREADY ENCOUNTERED with their ABS BRAKES. I want to know, SO WHEN I talk to Toyota tomorrow, I CAN ASK THEM IF THEY know about this problem. HOWEVER, SINCE I DON'T know TOO much about ABS, I am NOT SURE THAT THIS IS the true cause of my accident.

Can you say Grammer ****??? There needs to be some English tutoring going on with this person's driving lessons.
