MY car from far away just looks like it missing the front bumper...
Hopefully they can bend the hood back into spec..
Everything else is still mint ...airbags didn't even deploy...

sorry to hear this, hope you get your ride fixed soon.
The same thing happened to me when I had my '65 Mustang. I should have just let him hit me(ricer civic), instead I swerved and hit the curb and smashed into a big light pole

Doesn't look bad at all. The hood could probably be repaired w/o too much work. Other than that I can't really tell what's been damaged...I've never seen my car w/o the bumper cover before.

The body work for the hood, bumper, headlights, and paint job will be around $2,000. That should get it looking brand new. Call around for the best prices. Don't take it to a dealer, because they outsource their work to local shops. Instead find the shop that the dealer uses and talk to them directly. If you pay cash and don't mention anything about insurance you can sometimes get them to lower the price a little bit.
Personally if its $3,000 and under I generally prefer not to make an insureance claim unless someone else cause the accident. I'd rather pay it off over a years time on a CC then have my insurance premiums rise for 3-5 yrs. If you have the option, you might want to look into opening up a CC that offers no interest for 6-18 months and just pay it off asap.

Discharging a firearm to protect ones life, or the life of others, is not a crime. A hit and run suspect would be a high candidate for either a. previously broken the law, or is breaking the law. or b. scared beyond all reason and acts on carnal nature of escape.
Either outcome is a criminal offense, which can lead to citizens arrest.
Either outcome is also justifiable to end the vehicles operation to prevent further accidents and or injuries to the driver and or any motorists/pedestrians, and to prevent fleeing from the scene of the crime, or resisting citizens arrest.
Now the act of murder or shooting the individual (him or her) is against the law.

So when I call my insurance should I go to the repair shop that isn't a toyota dealer?
As long as its a shop they trust they will guarantee the work.
I heard not to go to the dealers for repairs.
and besides...I really want that damn Kaminari front kit...and I doubt a toyota dealership would help out.
