Default Curb

I finally curbed my tire when parking on my street today, the bad part isnt even the scuff on my rim its the fact that the curb has a huge edge to it and thats the part i hit which took off a piece of the rim protector or whatever you call it of the tire, the piece that sticks out a bit. I hope its not leaking slowly, i guess I'll find out in a few hours.

Nah the Tire Rim Protector is just a thick piece of rubber...if it got messed up there should be NO leak....Thats what they are made to do!...Protect ur wheel!

Yeah, I dont think there is a leak, it just sucks. The chunk out of it is a pretty decent size too. I just dont want to increase my chance for a blowout or anything along those lines either. Might just replace it eventually. Anyone know how much I can pick up a OEM tire for? I can get it mounted and balanced for free.

That sux, are you sure that and OEM tire would be $188 TeeCizzle? (That seems kinda high.) Idk though, tires can cost alot these days, especially if just buy one.

Yeah, OEM Bridgestone 'Suck'tonzas are terrible. Pick up some Falken Ziex ZE-912s or Kumho Ecsta ASTs for way cheaper.

After 24,000 miles I put news tires on my tC. i shopped around, first place i asked was the dealer. (i felt like getting a chuckle lol). Out the door, with balance and all that suff, it was gonna cost me a purtty $900 and somethin. IT WAS ALMOST A GRAND. i knew they were gonna be steep, but come on......
so i went and got some at Leshwab (awesome warranty )

LOL don't feel bad. We haven't curbed the rims, but daughter 9who we took the car away sure had) needless to say two of the tires even have rip/tear on the side wall, along with scared up rims. Sucks. Hope those tires last for a little longer or pray that we don't have a blow out!

Well after further examination(it was raining when i did it so i wasn't ambitious about standing in the rain) I am not at risk for a blow out, the tire will be fine because the piece that came out wasn't actually part of the functional tire it was just the guard. Unfortunately yeah the rim has a scuff but I think I might use that for motivation for different rims in the summer and if not then I will just buy an OEM rim off ebay or something. But for the winter it can stay on there, especially considering we just got our first snow today.
