im looking to change the dials on my tc but i cant find it anywere can sombody push me in the right direction

 

dials? if your talking about the screen on the radio then look in the cd booklet. Its in there, just hard to find.
Oh and moved to the tC section...

 

i think hes referring to the gauges.... tacometer, speedometer...... is that twhat you are asking about?

 

yes im talking about the gauges. that amber color is really anoying

 

theres a tech article on here about changing them to other colors by desoldering the led's under the instrument panel and gauge cluster and resoldering blue led's....

Ohhhhh thanx man ...... fianlly i can get my led changed.

i can picture it now black scion with blue led lights and blue underthe car neons SWeet

 

no problem, although... i must warn you.... its a tedious process to desolder and resolder all those LED's. take your time and make sure your using a low voltage solderer

 

I just did mine ... what a pain! I used a 15W soldering iron - kinda wish I had a hot air tool :\

 

what about that cold heat thingy on tV..
only gets hot when metal to metal.
and cools in seconds...
lol i dono if it's BS or not..
but if im gonna do the LED's( maybe next year)

since nobody's sticking up for the poor orange lighting ill havta help it out by saying that orange is good enough for BMW why cant the tC don the orange... lol it was worth a shot

 

this is a awesome mod but if your leaving the stock head unit in......why have different colors on the dash......i mean that may be your thing and all but i think the stock lighting is good enough.

 

thats why im putting in my eclpise unit what what..... unless ipod markets their little mini computer really cheap, then ill put that in instead

 

BMW uses a completely different color for interior illumination. It is somewhere between orange and red.

The yellowish amber that Toyota choose for the Scion gets distracting at night. I got sick of that and changed the LEDs to a pure red color (>620 nm). Red is much easier on the eyes and helps to preserve night vision.
