Default custom RB1 intake

yes i just made my first short ram intake called the RB1. its a short ram prototype that i made got from 3"s down to 2 "s and works great. you cant see the MAF in the pic cuz i screwed it on the bottom. I also made a cold air but i didnt have time to take pics of that last night cuz it got to dark when i was finished so ill take pics of that later.

why would you shrink it down to a 2" to the TB the just restricts flow? Did you use PVC or something?

Here's a link to a GFI thread that you might find interesting since your building your own intake

yea i used pvc. i shrunk it down to 2"s because when i was doing research i read that one guy tried doing all 3" piping and his car wouldnt start so i had it reduce kinda like a V2 style that AEM made

Interesting, you could have I think used a bigger pipe like 2.5" or 2.75" pipe as well becuase I know the GFI intake I made is i 2.75" and my car runs perfectly.

Well if you have the money and you're actually going to show off your engine then go ahead otherwise I wouldn't recommend wasting your money.

waste your money?!?!

i bet you 50 bucks that any intake on the market has better performance gains than that POS. I'm sorry but that is the ugliest, worst looking thing i've ever seen.

well were about to find out today if thats true or not.my friend has a ZPI exhaust on his and a AEM CAI and i have the same exhaust just that i have this intake and we're going to the track tonight for best out of 5 runs to see if there are any gains from my set up. by the way. i changed it to a cold air now instead of it being a SRI. so it should be little more interesting how this works out. also like i stated before the only diffrence between mine and the ones that ppl pay 250-340 is the fact that mine isnt shiny or painted. yet.

This gives me the idea to make my own rims out of wicker and tin foil!

They'll go great with the CD deck that I made out of a laser pointer and a ceiling fan motor.

If nothing else I will agree with you on that, it should be 2.75 or 2.5" atleast.

if he played it right and did that to make his CAI (which ofcourse isn't pictured) that might be a nice setup, though I'll stick to me GFI which look much cleaner (for those who are crazy about looks).
