Default Dealer modifications?

At the end of next month I finally have enough contracts closing to go and get the new Tc Ive been wanting. To prepare a little I went to my local Toyota dealership. Once I sat down to look at options, the salesman started showing me what were obviously aftermarket modifications. He said I could get vertical opening doors, cold-cathode lighting, and very custom ground effects just to name a few. He told me that I would order my Scion, then when it arrived, it would be taken to a local shop to add the special modifications before I ever even see the vehicle. He also said that all these mods would then be covered under the warranty. Is this correct? The other dealership I went to said nothing like this. They only showed me the same options that I see on the website.

Vertical doors from the dealer? He's gotta be pulling your chain.

Well, like I said, the parts are not actually from the dealer, but will be added after delivery at a local shop. Then covered by warranty? This just sounds too good to be true. Also the prices he quoted me for making these changes were pretty reasonable. Such as the door mod only adding an additional $1800 to the total price of the car. Do the other Scion dealers do this?

After commiting to my dealer for the purchase, I started looking around at what the other dealerships offered. I was interested in the different pricing on the various options I ordered. What I found was that not only was the pricing on the "standard" stuff varied but each dealer offered something that the others didn't. Some offered very little aftermarket, some offered crazy stuff like the verticle doors mentioned in the post.

actually it might be true.

i know a dodge dealer that mod's their SRT4's and everything is covered by the dealer.

well the aftermarket parts are covered by that SPECIFIC dealer but everything else should be under scion's warranty

Ive looked around and seen prices on Tc specific kits range from 1400 to 1700.
Installed and with a dealer warranty? 1800 dont sound to bad to me.
