Default Dealership Question

I am wondering if the dealership will be able to install the optional accessoies I would order from TRDSparks if they would. It would save me hundreds this way I think, depending on Labor.

Optional Accessories:
Pedestal Spoiler
Rear Bumper Guard
Carbon Fiber B-Pillar Applliques
Blue Lights
Door Sills
Auto-Dimming Mirror
Mudguards

Most dealers will install anything you wanted ... as long as you pay them.

Though you should be able to do AT LEAST the rear bumper applique, b-pillar appliques, door sills and mudguards. I don't think any of those are difficult.

Also when buying your scion, basically the only option that its worth it to get from the dealer is the ipod hu. So dont even get carpet mats from them...cuz theyre like 80$ at mcgeorge or trd.

^ But the $80 ones at McGeorge don't come with the trunk mat. You have to get that separately, and it's still like $30.

i SUGGEST installing most those items yourself
becuz buying them from TRDsparks negates the Pure Pricing for the acc. install
so you will be paying the labor they want to charge you, so unless you can find a very nice dealer that is willing to do it for a decent price, your better off doing it yourself

Hmm, I'll have to give them a call sometime. I don't want the labor going above than the original cost as if I would get if I order it from then instead of TRDSparks.

in MOST dealers they will jack it up becuz you bought the kit/parts elsewhere
so its not pure pricing

thats how it is here, but not on ALL accessories though, just a few

Optional Accessories:
Pedestal Spoiler: I would have the dealer install because this can be tricky!
Rear Bumper Guard: You can save A LOT of $$$ by DIY!!
Carbon Fiber B-Pillar Applliques: Refer to "Rear Bumper Guard". Takes like 5 mins to install DIY!!
Blue Lights: These may take a while. Most people who have them say they are overpriced.
Door Sills: Refer to "B-Pillar Apps.".
Auto-Dimming Mirror: You might want to rethink this one. If you tint your Hatch, the mirror may not function properly.
Mudguards: The fronts are super-easy! Turn wheels and install. The rears are a little harder. You might have to remove the tires. I installed mine when I installed my new 'Red' TYC tails. (Because it was easier to remove the bumper for the tails install, so I attached mud guards to bumper while bumper was off.)

Yea, I will probably have the dealer install the spoiler and blue lights. TRDSparks have the lights for $122, which is a little less than half of the MSRP. So, think the labor will make the total of the price AND labor ABOVE $250? Also, I would use the mirror for the garage door, etc. And it looks dang good, haha.

As for the rest, I could do myself.

Yeah, as long as you have a garage door, the auto-dimming mirror will never lose its functionality. It also does look very nice and can help provide some mood lighting with the matching amber light or the soft white or blue. It is a pretty cool mirror, and imo, improves the appearance of the interior. I just love it because of the garage door feature and not having to have my remote clipped onto one of my visors or something. I also have it set to my friend's garage too...haha. Prank versatility!

Now, that's funny. Yea, I think I will go with it. But, my parents want me to go with the SRS side airbags, which I looked up the crash ratings and the driver's section is rated as excellent and the rest as good. I don't often have people in the car with me. Can you change the light color whenever you want?

Yeah...it has 5 settings.

1. Off
2. Blue
3. Amber(matches instrument cluster and all other lights)
4. Soft White
5. Continuous rotation.

I am currently trying to figure out if i can change the light to red instead of blue and also do the hvac and instrument lights red also. Oh, and there is a bright white map light from it too.

Its a bright light that will shine down onto your passenger's lap. Its called a map light because it will help you read a map. It shines the light in the right spot. Its basically like another dome light.

I also suggest you install as many parts yourself as you can. But I would have a dealer do the spoiler, as I would prefer someone else be responsible if it gets messed up. We're talking about drilling holes in your car here. Also, if you're going iPod, have the dealer do that as it will be cheaper that way.

I have the auto dimming mirror and love it. It was a recent addition. And my rear window tint (20%) does not mess it up at all. It still works great. Because I have side air bags, I connected the wires to the sunroof power, and it was a quick and easy self install.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your car!

just install all those yourself...there are enough resources here to do it, and it's not very difficult to begin with.

Yea, that is what I am planning on doing? Can I get a spoiler and blue lights from the dealership if they have a white tC on the lot if they don't have it?

Wow, I didn't know the OEM light kit had different settings. But uhh, why is it that when you customize a car at scion.com, they give an option for amber or blue?

yea, those are dealer installed options, which means they send your car into the back and have the high school kids install it there j/k, the techs do it, but yea, you get the idea, it's not very difficult. none of the options you have said you wanted there are hard at all. most of the ppl on this forum have installed everything on their car themselves, including myself.
