Hi I am writing this because I do not want you all tC lovers to go through what I went through with DownTown Oakland Toyota.

Here is the time table for my experiences:

Nov 2004 - The dealer allowed me test drive a SOLD tC. I appreciated that I was able to test drive one but it bothered me that I am driving someone else's new car. I worried that the same will happend to me since this dealer is obviously LACK OF INTREGRITY. I liked the car and I put down deposite for my new 5-speed Flint Mica tC. I was asked to wait for 1-2 months.

December 2004 - I called to check on status of the order. I was told that Scion stop producing tC during the holidays. Still have to wait for 1-2 months.

Jan 2005 - I was told that my order was cancelled. Needed to wait for 1-2 more months.

1/20/05 - I heard enough LIES from Downtown Oakland Toyota, so I called Dublin Toyota and told them my story. They said they will try to get my car and that they will not take a deposite.

2/01/05 - I was told by Downtown Oakland Toyota that the car will be here shortly. At this point I already talked to the Customer Relation Manager. These people didn't have a clue when and where their tC are located.

2/04/05 Afternoon - Downtown Oakland Toyota lefted a message on my cell phone that they will not able to get my car. I called them back and yelled at them. I told them if you knew you weren't able to the car then why did you take my depostie. They are simply being IRRESPOMSIBLE.

2/04/05 EVENING - Downtown Oakland Toyota called back and said that they found my car and it will arrives on 2/15/05. BUT it will have accessaries on it that I do not want. I was told that the parts have not been put on the car yet, but I will still have to take them anyway. This was not acceptable to me. They are just trying to make more money from me. On top of that, I wasn't even giving time to think about the offer. I was told that he has someones else on the other line waiting for that car.


2/05/05 - Dublin Toyota called me and my car arrived at dealer with just one accessary that I didn't want. I picked it up on the same day anyway, because I didnt want to wait anymore and I liked the services I received from them. They worked hard to get the car close to my spec. It only took them 16 days to get this car.

In short, the dealer at Downtown Oakland Toyota are LACK OF INTREGRITY,and IRRESPOMSIBLE. They will do whatever it takes to have you put down a deposite and add on accessaries that you don't want. They are totally destroying the way of SCION. SCION allows us to personalize a car to the way we, the buyers want it. It should never be personalized by the dealers behind our backs.

Man, what a crappy experience.

I had my Scion the day I went in to buy it, about 3 hours later. My dealer was great, and very, very upfront about everything.

Definitely call Scion Customer Service.

from the dealer i was going to go to they told me that someone had put down a deposit but i could still test drive the car. seccond after the test drive the dealer told me i could buy the car ( remember some one already put a deposit down ) i asked him about the other person and the guy told me "well if your going to buy it right now we will sell it to you" im thinkin WTF some one has bought this car they just havent made it down to pick it up..

now thats a shaddy shoe sales me IMO

i guess since the car is so high in demand their going to do what ever they can to make their money...

for me gettin it at vendor price im stuck till JUNE till i get my 5spd filnt mica :-( bummer o well
