Default do you ever get tailgated

ok you gies ..its and odd question and im sure its been discuss before if it has please forgive me i tryed to search for any related topics on what im lookin for and couldnt find much...

how many of you tc owners with a big exhasut like the megans drift spec...HKS..and tsusodo and so on...get tail gated by mostly big SUV's..reason i ask this i have the drift spec myself it seems like every so often a big SUVs just loves to tail gate me its almost like they want to push you off the road....even at stop lights or stop signs they just like to take off and dont want to wait for you to ingauge the clutch...they peep at you...

maybe it just me and where i live always in a hurry...i dont know..i bet you if everyonw drove a stick there wil be less accidents and less tail gating

yeah, everybody gets tail gated, it happens, but sometimes for different reasons. some people are just A-holes, but sometimes it is because they are higher up and can see so far down the road that they don't need to follow you at a greater distance because they can see you and everything in front of you so they would be able to see and react to traffic ahead of you just as well as you could.

my following distance varies based on how well i can see through and around vehicles infront of me. following wagons and hatchbacks and smaller vehicles in general, i can see enough traffic ahead of them that i can follow closer and in many cases, i actually respond sooner to traffic slowdowns then they do. but when i'm behind big vans, SUV's and trucks and such that i can't see what is going on ahead, i'll either follow at a greater distance, or pass them when possible so i can drive more efficiently.

Here in jersey it seems that truck drivers think they own the road and will tail gate you cus they want you to move. Speeding in a truck with sucky gas mileage and takes 50 bucks to fill up? People are dumb.

I think it's safe to say that if you drive, you have been/will be tailgated at some point.

I keep a few of those heavy ball bearings in my pocket when i'm on my bike. Just toss one back and the noise of it hitting their car or the large crack it causes in their window will make em slow down. If they keep coming you drop a handful and speed off.

I have been tailgated. I usually slow down and ____ them off more. Then i take my time to get over. But thats only if im going like 10 over already and i see them coming up like they are a bat out of hell. If im going like the speed limit or a lil more i just move when i can. Its mainly the people speeding or driving and cuting through traffic that i purposely ____ off. But I wont ever throw anything. if somebody through something at me they would have there plate down id call the cops and meet them and file a police report. but its never happened to me. but honestly if someone did throw something i would prolly get in front of them and brake check the ____ out of them and have a new car.

In europe, there is no such thing as tailgating. why? because the way europe teaches citizens how to drive is different than in the US. Its called a "drive right" mentality. Right is for passing only, and driving in the #1 lane and not passing is illegal in many areas of europe. it also costs $2000+ to just obtain a license in europe. folks here in AZ are retards, the #1 lane is not a cruising lane, gtf outta the way and stop holding up traffic. If d-bag tailgating wants to drive faster than you, get out of the #1 lane, its not for driving the speed limit and let him pass on the right and get a ticket. It applies on highways and city streets. Its as simple as that.......

Amen to that, and on that note, it is normal to flash your lights as you approach oncoming traffic in the passing lane. This usually resolves the issue of people going slow in the passing lane. In the US, the roads are designed differently than Europe in regards to city and local driving so it cannot ALWAYS be expected for people in the passing (or left) lane to actually be passing someone. This mainly only applies to highway driving. I <3 European (especially German) roadways and rules. We were stuck behind a crapwagon on the Autobahn and our German driver wouldn't pass on the right after like 4-5 miles. He was honking and flashing his lights for the guy to move but he didn't. The white Porsche Boxter behind us was ____ed too! Once he finally moved, we found out that the Porsche was a cop and pulled the guy. Hehe, justice only on the Autobahn

You think maybe some of those people speeding have a legitimate reason, and that you're just making them even later to something important?

I dont know if there is EVER a legitimate reason to be excessively speeding (unless you are law enforcement). But yes, I agree that intentionally slowing someone down because YOU were in the way only makes the situation worse. can you say Road Rage? Dunno about the rest of you, but I prefer to keep my car bullet hole free............

I get tailgated ALL THE TIME, seems like there's always someone doing it, but I'd bet it's pretty much the same for anyone living in socal, too many cars and crazy people crammed into one place, just gotta accept it.

While that's bad, I don't mind it near as much as all the people that won't get out of my freakin' way! Too many people with either no clue or don't care what's going on behind them, no consideration for other drivers at all. Even when I'm speeding, if a "bat out of hell" is behind me I'll get out of their way as quick as I can, as I'd like the same consideration from others.
