Default Do you have high hopes for the 2009 tC?

Based on the xA replacement - xD, and the new xB, do you guys have high expectations for the next "sporty coupe" from Scion?

Also, how would you feel if something very similar in looks to the FUSE concept car was sporting a "tC" badge?

Im personally down with whatever the peeps over at Scion come up with. I think something half way between the current tC and the FUSE concept would look cool.

I have a strange feeling that because of it's popularity (best selling Scion) that the tC will follow in the xB's footsteps and not lose it's name.

Also, I think it will again dominate in sales, because it's hard to mess up a sports coupe that comes standard with rims and a moonroof. As long as they don't supersize it into a Solara, or raise the price over $20k, it should be the best new Scion yet.

The new xD and xB kinda seem like a disappointment to me. I'm hoping they get this one right.

I dont have any hope for anything Scion... the time when Scion's were fun has come and gone. Now a Scion is just like a Honda... all over the place, riced out, and driven by arrogant peeps. Its sad really

2nd'd about the rwd. Don't expect awd either, IMO.

It's too hard to speculate something like this... so I'm just going to wait it out until we get some more rumors or something.

I think that Scion should discontinue the tC and sell the fuse in its place. Because 1) tC's would be more rare and 2)resell values would go up.

But we all know that won't happen.

The fuse looks nice though. I would definitely want to test drive it.

There are a lot of rumors going around about a budget RWD coupe a la Trueno coming out from Toyota, supposedly priced around 14k. . .

It's my wet dream fantasy, and I doubt it will ever happen, but I would love to see the tC axed (even though I love mine). I don't think they should bastardize the tC with some lame replacement. What I want is the replacement to be. . . the Scion aE. Give me a minimum of 150hp, RWD, and a good 2+2 arrangement, and I'd be buying ANOTHER new Scion. Sell it in limited quantities here, and it will be the new COOL car. Mass produce and sell it all over europe and asia, and that will give us some JDM cred, as well as parts.

The formula isn't all that complicated; low price, RWD, simple design and engineering, and the capability to boost the snot out of it. Instant hit. . .

^ If they announced something like that, I wonder how many current tC owners would drop everything they're doing to run to the dealer and put down a deposit...

Let's not kid ourselves too much. Like every generation of every toyota over the last 15 years, the new tC will be bigger, heavier and more expensive. Think xB, Camry, Corolla, Avalon, Rav4, Highlander, 4runner, Tacoma, Tundra/T100. When was the last time Toyota updated a model without making it 20% bigger in every dimension?

I'm really sick of hearing people bi.tch and whine about Scion "going mainstream" or not being "edgy" anymore. Have you all forgotten that Scion is a business? What do business's do? UMM I dunno, find a way to make a profit?? How many car companies do you see encourage you to mod and personalize their cars? How many actually do real things like owner appreciation, *cough cough* Exposed *cough* Miami *cough* And how many actually listen to their customers? People whined about the xb2 being too big and not as fuel efficient. But what did 1st gen owners want? More cargo space and more power... Did you all really expect the xB to keep that same exact shape forever?? Scion has always found creative ways to innovate and surprise folks. When I first saw an xB 4 years ago I thought it was the ugliest thing ever, now I wouldn't do anything to get rid of my box. When I saw the xb2 I thought WTF, then I drove one and now I wish I could afford to own both a 1st gen and 2nd gen. On that note I wish I could afford to own a tC too. I'm excited to see what Scion has up it's sleeves for the next gen tc. and to all you people who _____ed and whined about the xb2, it's really getting old and quit flaming people for buying a car they wanted. There's tons of other cars to choose from out there so just shut the hell up!

*end rant*
