Default Door issue.

well im guessing everyone is having this problem?

The problem is that the doors are very loose and will swing around.
the first "stop" is pretty stiff but not enough to get out easily and the second "stop" is pretty non existant...which builds momentum and passes the 3rd and opens all the way.

if u didnt get that...basically the door flys open too fast...
is there a bolt i can tighten or a hinge i can get to stiffen it?

im really careful but my passengers arent...
hey hit over 3 cars altogether...with the door.

that "stop" is called the door check and there is a tsb (tech service bulletin) about replacing it. have to take the door apart to replace it. I guess in the tsb the door check can bend, causing damage to the window glass. But that's what I thought about was the tsb. ask your dealer for a copy and read up on it to see if that sounds like your problem.

I know the tC doors are heavy and if they built momentum, they're going to fly open. I have to hold mine tightly when getting out, if there is wind, so that i don't hit the car next to me!

i just need it for the passenger door. they keep hitting the cars next to me... and it flys open sometimes and i can feel the stress the hinge is taking.

LOL.... listen to the other post on here... YOU dont need to pay for the part... if it is a TSB (Toyota Service Bulletin) then that means Toyota is aware that it is an issue and authorizes Toyota dealers to fix the part free of cost to the owner.

LOL... we or I wasn't giving you a hard time... so no worries.... just thought maybe you weren't familiar with "tsb"s ...not everyone instantly knows what they are.
I know you can also look up what tsb's are/have been issued for a specific Toyota/Scion via Toyota's website too.
