Default Downpayment... .DONE

25/m - Drove a MCS, auto-xed it, loved it... wrecked it last week :-) Waiting to hear if it is totaled or not. Either way its going to be about 14-15k of damage so I decided to get rid of it either way.

So after a LONG list of cars (SRT-4, 350z, rsx-s, mazda3, MCS JCW, jetta, GTI VR6, gti R32, eclipse, sentra-specV, altima 3.5se, maxima, etc!!!) I know, cery diverse.

I decided that my favorite car for customization, speed, handling, PRICE was the scion tC. I'm in love with the looks. Truth is, I know it will be some good money spent before it handles like an MCS - but a BIGGER car was also key. Besides.. I love modding cars.

So I put my downpayment down yesterday on...

5sp Black Sand Pearl
Side Airbags,
6-CD changer
XM
18" Enkei's with Pzero Neros
Strut Brace
TRD Exhaust
Chrome Mesh shift ****
TRD Short Shifter
Rubber/Carpet Mats
BIllet cap, battery tiedown (why not... adds like 75 cents a month)
Cargo net
Wheel locks

I'm thrilled about it.. hoping to resolve insurance dispute this week - car will be ready for pickup on Thursday.

My gig is always to leave it stock (or how i buy it) for a month. From then on, I can do 1 thing a month. It helps me appreciate the subtle difference of each mod.

I think my Mod list will be:
Short shifter
TRD springs
AEM Intake
Rear Sway
and.. SC when it shows up

Is there anything else people are doing for these (other than coilovers) I haven't read much about chips.. I guess they don't do too much really for naturally aspirated engines.. the SC should yield some chips (and pullies!!!!)

Anyone in the Virginia Beach area?

You said ur getting the TRD short shifter as an option of ur car from the factory, then you have a short shifter on ur mod list. Man that's gonna be one really short shifter.

MCS: Mini Cooper SupperCharged.

Hey, Shane. Don't you're gonna miss its handling and 6-speeds on MCS?

Hell yes I will miss it. I miss it already. My insurance rental car is a Spyder GT convertible and it is awful compared to the MCS handling.

But.... time for something new. I see a few tC's on the road and love the looks. Before the MCS, I had a NA MC, and that was great too.

After some springs, the strut brace, sway bar, it should handle a lot better - not as good as my MCS which had a sway bar, strut brace, and springs on it :-)

But het.. style for performance! What the hell! Anyone who buys the tC because it is "the best performance" didn't test drive too many cars. :-)

That said, I can't wait till mine comes in this week!

about 20,700 or so

And then GAP (with that many financed mods, you have to) and road hazard (with 40-profile tires, you have to)

if I put nothing down it would have been about 420 a month(after dealer fees, va tax, title and tags) at 4.8% I think that's what it would have been.

That's the beauty of the base car being so cheap.. you can mod like crazy from the beginning and there really is not a high cost still.
