What is this I hear about the MT downshift lock? What exactly does it do, I haven't tried yet, but when im on the freeway going 60 or so crusin along, will the tC let me downshift?

if your going 60.... there is a lock to prevent you shifting in a to LOW of a gear.


for exmaple: downshifting from 4th to 3rd? someone might miss and shift into 1st. if your going 60, 1st gear tops off at 29mphs. i wonder wat will happen to you car if you shift into 1st instead of 3rd.


so there is a lock there to HELP PREVENT not stop completely from downshifting into a wrong gear.

Actually it is grammar, stop trying to be a smartass correcting others when you cant spell yourself.

 

i believe only first gear has a lockout. i have downshifted to third, but i was only going about 55 mph. anymore than that would have jolted the car alot or required some careful rev-matching.
i don't think any other gear has a lockout, even reverse doesn't have a lockout

 

Damn, now that takes a lot of *****....you ask a pretty remedial question about cars (what does a downshift lock do, can I downshift while driving on the highway?) and then you blast on someone that helps you by answering your question???

If everyone were like you, you would have gotten an answer of "No, retard. You have to drive around in 5th gear until you coast to a stop. Only then can you downshift."
