Default Driver's Side Carpet Removal

Has anyone removed the Dead Pedal and gas door openner to get under the carpet on the driver's side? I'm looking for some assistance. I just need enough lift to get some sound deadener under there. I dont wish to remove all the carpet. Thanks.

umm if u haven't figured it out yet, it's extremely simple. There is a plastic nut on the right side of the dead pedal, you just unscrew it and then pull the pedal off. I'm not sure about the gas door opener, i bet u can just rip it out. This whole car is made of plastic clips

I believe the same thing, but I'm still contemplating on whether or not that's a good thing.... easy to mod, but how durable will they be in a few years?

He's right about the nut to the right of the dead pedal, and I'm sure you can pluck off the gas door cover, there's probably a nut under there to to remove the entire latch, I can look into it tomorrow if someone else doesn't know before then

Thanks for the reply! I ended up pulling the dead pedal off. I didnt see a nut or anything. Just 2 plastic clips. I left the gas door opener alone. It gave me enough space to get to the bare metal under there. There is foam pad partially covering the floor at the feet. I have nearly eliminated the vibration on the floor which is very noticable under hard acceleration.
