Default Driving with AC on

Is it just me or the tC drives like crap when the AC is on. I got a 5speed and I cant make a smooth shift no matter what and the car feels slow and bogged down. To add to insult the ____ AC isnt even strong enough to bring the temps down.

yea i know what you mean, i cant shift as smooth, takes awhile for it to cool, and it accelerates slowly. But its not bad for just driving like a normal person.

I feel with the ac o, i can drive like the grandpa next to me....lol....no need to accelerate fast.

BWAHAHAHAHA

I dunno, my tC isn't that bad with the AC on. Way better than my poopie VW Passat that I had before. You turn the AC on in that car, and it feels like four 300+ pound guys just jumped in your car. It goes slow as hell! And to top it of, the AC blows warm air. hardly no cooling at all!
Just consider yourself lucky you're not driving a VW!

yea it is a lil harder to drive but thats because the a/c is pretty much another load on the engine. just shift a lil faster than usual and you should be able to make a smooth shift.

lmao that reminds me of a time I told a bunch of ricer kids that if you want to make your car faster, turn on your AC.... It will 'cool' the car faster, thus a cooler engine = more hp

hahaha

Ive also noticed that sometimes the AC will come out cold but if the car has been sitting out in the sun then it takes forever to get cold

My AC is freezing cold. Passengers always ask for me to turn it down. Mind you i live in HOT A** Texas. Maybe it's b/c a drive an A/T.

everything works fine on the tC. i would think the shifting is a driver error. i guess people are expecting a 40k car out of something that costs 16k.

its not a bid difference for me however i can tell it does not run the same w/ the A/C on. I usually dont use the a/c unless it is really hot anyway.

I don't mean to point out the obvious, but its been my observation that in the tC having the recirc on makes a huge difference, much more of a difference than it makes in the xB.

I can get condensation forming on the OUTSIDE of my sunroof. Now That's some cold A/C!
