well...if you go to the tc vehicle page on this forum, it has the motor trend car diagram complete with their times AND some pointers on what techniques they found most effective for launching the car. there it says:

rev to 2500 rpms and drop the clutch and feed in the throttle.

when launching a car, you don't want ANY wheel spin. at most all you want is a chirp of tire squeal.

with a naturally aspirated tc, it is all about first gear. leaving the line without spinning the tires. it really isn't that hard since first gear is so short, just gotta work on timing letting off the clutch while giving it a little throttle, i do usually about 2000 rpms and i tend to get just alittle chirp, but once the car is moving i can push full throttle and then hit second and chirp the tires again, but that is just abusive to the clutch.
