I dropped a quarter accidentally in the opening in front of the emergency handbrake. How do I get it out? Or does it matter?

Pull off the shifter surround, then pull off the cupholder. You should be able to find it then. Check my subwoofer/LED lighting install thread for pics.

 

hmm..interesting. i was looking at the e-brake assembly, and noticed the gap where the flap doesn't cover when the brake is up. other cars have a leather boot for it (kinda ugly), but i was wondering if anyone had come up with an alternate solution?

Just pull on the shifter surround first. It will pop off. There are no screws or anything. The cupholder comes out the same way. You do want to unscrew the shift **** first, though.

 

The best thing to do is drop 3 more quarters in. A quarter will rattle like hell but a dollar won't!

 

grrr, i dropped two dimes in there today too! i just hope they don't get caught on the e-brake gears...

 

ha...and all this time i though u needed that quarter...

Haha OMG I was too embarrased to post this, but your post paved the way I had a pair of sunglasses where one of the things that goes over ur ears (don't know the technical term) kept falling off. A couple of weeks ago my sunglasses fell apart...again...and the thin plastic piece fell into that same area! I guess I could either take it appart or just invest in a new pair of sunglasses. :oops:

Yeah, I guess I'll just buy a new pair. But I was really used to those they were "Reaction" and pretty nice.
