How well did those coil-overs hold up for you? Can they handle some hard driving from time to time? Did they come with strut mounts?

10gxiong 06-17-2011 04:27 AM

I am interested in your opinion of the Rokkor's as well. Very clean tC.

s rhabb - You have to use the strut mounts from your current suspension set up, or buy them separate.

DTRUONG_112 06-17-2011 06:32 AM

Riding strong still. I def do not have any complaints about them. Just deciding wether or not to remove perches once my wheels come in.

RS2_1823 06-17-2011 11:51 AM

Are your fronts maxxed?

DTRUONG_112 06-17-2011 03:26 PM

Correct.

DTRUONG_112 06-21-2011 03:40 PM

Wheels ordered, waiting arrival. Time to go tire shopping and in the meantime, roll the fenders.

10gxiong 06-21-2011 10:42 PM

What wheels did you order?

DTRUONG_112 06-22-2011 02:02 AM

Budget wheels LOL. XXR 527 in Chromium Black. 17 x 9.5 +25.

10gxiong 06-24-2011 02:34 AM

Those are nice.

DTRUONG_112 06-24-2011 04:29 AM

For the price, I def cant complain. Really wanted the 526s but those are taking forever to ship. Waiting for the 527s to come in before I get some tires.

Hayseed 06-24-2011 05:12 AM

^Sosososososososo glad I didnt order the 526's in february. I literally was about to click to confirm the order...
But the 527's are awesome. Good choice.

Nice ride, for anyone curious about Rokkors, I personally love them and are not as bouncy as people make them out to be. The only time they are uncomfortable are over certain speed bumps (not all are bad IMO), potholes with a big gap between it and the road, and road level changes that are major. Either way, I'd sacrifice that for the looks and improvement of handling any day.

I agree with you 100%.

OP, can you school me on detailing?
Not sure which wax/polish/soap to go with and what tools are best to use and procedure? Guess basically any tips will help lol.

Car looks great btw.

DTRUONG_112 06-25-2011 05:18 PM

^Thats a great question. I will do my best to answer.

In terms of washing the car, I recommend anything with tons of suds. Suds will help create a barrier between the wash mitt and car to help prevent the addition of more swirls to the paint while cleaning it. I personally do a foam wash prior to washing the car with the mitt and soap. I also utilize the two-bucket wash method to help reduce the chance of swirls.

Polishing the car now will require a complete clay of the car. After claying, I test a small area to see how much work or which polishes I need to use to get the best results. I start with the least agressive polish and work my way up til I achieve the desired results. After polishing the car, I use a carnuba wax to seal everything in.

From a brand standpoint, I have used Meguiars, Pinnacle, Wolfgang and currently using only Adams products. I highly recommend the Adams from a value standpoint and customer service.

Hopefully that gives you some insight, if you need more, let me know or go to Adamspolishes.com and they have instructional videos too.

Also decided on tires, 205/40/17 on 17x9.75. Federals 595.

colinantherus 06-29-2011 09:01 PM

did you have to remove your wheel well linings to be dropped like that? im thinking about either getting racelands or rokkors soon but i wont wanna risk getting water up in my c.a.i

DTRUONG_112 06-29-2011 10:54 PM

No removal necessary. Mostly likely will remove for the new wheels though.

^yeah, read up on other forums about the Federals. Was going to go with the 215 but opted 205. I contemplated going a little smaller but wasnt ballsy enough for that...yet LOL.
