Ok don't know where post this so i'll do it here ...

Has anyone else experienced this.. while driving on the high way you open your sun roof .. just pop it open where it tilts up but doesn't fully open. and get a popping in your ears ??

I thought it was just me , but it happens to my girl when she is in the car with me ..

 

it happens to me when i close the roof when i go on the highway.

 

When you open the sunroof when going down the road with the windows closed you are causing the air pressure to drop inside your car.

it happened to me too
I was cruising down lake shore drive one day and felt my ears pop a bit, but I thought it was because I had my music too loud haha

j/k.. hapepens when you create a pressure imbalance when you opne/ close the sun roof.. i get that if i lower or raise just my back windows w/ the front ones up on my toaster.. but had the same thing ina freinds tc

 

Yeah, i definitely experience that too, it's pretty crazy and sometimes it really hurts!!

 

It's all about pressure...

there we go! same thing can happen if 1 of the 2 windows are opened a little bit.

 

My ear pops when I'm in the backseat w/ the sunroof open.

 

yea i tend to drive really really fast with only the sun roof open on the freeway cuz im always running late to work and freeways in az are aka racetracks. if im going over 80 which is just about every time i get in the car i feel a lot of pressure on my head but my ears dont pop.

yea. its arizona it never rains and started getting hot in like feb. but anyway yea with it open like that the inside builds pressure. it was the same way for my SE-R.

 

I second that with ajmus038, here in Vegas its already pushing 90 on somedays, and driving 90mph on our interstates causes some ear popping too

 

first off ur not supposed to go that fast with the roof all the way open!!!!!!!

second off ears only pop when there is a change in pressure. for example open at high speeds or close it at high speeds.

 

does it say in the manual somewhere that your not suppose to? I'm not trying to a smartass at all, this is a genuine question. I've done it a lot of times and no problems yet.
