Default electrical problem.

i can no longer lock/unlick my doors using my key fob.
no its not dead, its brand new.

also when i have the lights on, turn the car off, and open the door, the lights remain on instead of turning off like they are supposed to...

im in the process of checking all the fuses.
just wanted to see if anyone else had this problem and thoughts on what it might be?

thanks.

i unplugged the battery and let it sit for about 45 mins so everything reset.

the lock/unlock still didnt work at first but it seems to be working fine now. im keeping my fingers crossed that it will continue to work properly.

however, i just picked up a pizza, and when i got out of my car the lights shut off, i though everything was resolved, buuuut, about 5 seconds later as i walking away from the car...the lights turned back on again...

That is defiantly weird, do you think that could be a loose wire from the wire tuck you did?

Better yet did you meter it first?

Then again this should only pop a fuse but you never know.

That is the only wire in the harness that would affect your lighting system.

i bought it used so everything was already wired from the previous owner and yes the illumination wire was hooked up.

im in the process of disconnecting everything and soldering everything together.

i actually took the D3 out and put the stock HU beack in for now so i can troubleshoot this issue first.

Just an FYI....

You likely don't need it but just for reference.

i went to the dealer to get another exhaust hanger. ($20!? wtf)
but anyways, i figured while i was there id ask em about this problem.
it was 11:30PM so there was only a couple guys left and they were real cool.

he went over everything he thought it was and i told him i already checked that stuff, so he told me to put the hood.
at that point i just got a big isht eating grin on my face cuz i knew what was coming...
i released the hood latch, then stood back and watched the tech open it.
the look on his face was priceless, he was like "wtf? where is everything?"
hahaha.

so basically, the dealer was of no help either.
looks like ive got a long day of checking relays tomm.

That is pretty cool. Well good luck, like you said it is probably a relay.

idk wtf is going on.
i got a multimeter last night and was going to check all the relays today...
but, when i woke up in the morning...everything worked fine. haha
my only guess is one of the relays got wet, but it was pretty warm today so maybe it had a chance to dry out all the way...
idk.

well im pretty sure its got something to do with water.
it rained allll day yesterday and eveyrthing back again...only worse.

key fob doesnt work again, lights dont turn off automatically again, annnd the radiator fan on the drivers side doesnt turn off, i have to fkin unplug it everytime i park and go in somewhere. And the HVAC screen (where it shows the time) stays on as well, it flickers and dims really weird, and when i go to start the car it takes a while, first couple times nothing happens at all, then on about the 4th try it makes a weird grinding noise, and on the 5th try it starts...

hopefully im able to trouble shoot everything tomm.

yep, its your relays. I had my HID's keep staying on, I just replaced the relay with a better one from radioshack. i've never had to deal with relays that are OEM though....
