Default Engine tap?

Hey, im fairly new to this forum and in the next coming days, my BCP tC will be arriving.

The tC is my first car and I just wanted to know, how long does it take to tap into the engine?

I heard 3000 miles or something.

Let me know what you guys think.

I thought it was 800, To my knowledge no red lining no sudden stops no long periods at the same velocity and lots more probally.

Engine break in is 1000. No sustained driving at one speed (fast or slow). No high revs or hard braking.

Oh, sorry for the wrong termology. Engine brake in is what I mean.

I heard its best not to high rev until the car gets its first oil change.

I also heard from some people, its best not to go over 70 mph? I have even heard 60.

What did you guys do?

*Btw thanks for the responses :D

You can go over 60 or 70... but just not for more than a few minutes at a time. Like if you're on the highway - no cruise control for a while. Just vary your speed. Go like 65 for a few minutes and then 60 for a few minutes, back up to 65... etc.

That's pretty much what I've been doing during my break-in period, 60 for 5 minutes then 55 for 5 minutes. It really makes the people behind me angry even though I'm in the right hand lane. I also keep the revs below 3K, more for better gas milage than anything.
