i just bought a 9500ix, i'm new at radar detector, want to know am i suppose to turn everything on tsr k ka x band? and i been drive around with it for two weeks already only time i pick up this cop car signal is wehn they shoot the radar at me, but not when they are park at the side of the highway or driving. does this radar really can save me from speeding?

 

Yes always have everything on,and leave it in highway mode it's more sensative on that mode I believe. You would rather have false alarms than a ticket

 

Radar detector does not guarantee that you won't get a ticket it's there to help and warn you. Don't trust it 100% as it will see a cop only when the rada is on, alot of seasoned cops don't have their radars on at all times, they turn them on and off just to check someones speed. Therefore also use your eyes and common sence and like i said don't just rely on the RD completely.

 

Your senses are better than any radar detector out there. A lot of cops might just be driving in traffic, or hiding with their guns off waiting for you.

That being said, you should have gotten a V1. :/

 

what exactly sets the V1 apart from the others..ive been wondering this for awhile as they cost a lot more but if its that much better then its a good price

 

I think it's just errows on V1 that point which direction the signal comes from. Which i think is cool but not a deal breaker becausr on Escort you canfigure it out. If the signal is rising cop is infront of you or behnd you and speeding up and if the signal is dropping he's going away from you.
I have Escort 9500i and i like it when i use it, once i'm back i will most likely upgrade it to 9500ix throught Escort.

 

i have an escort 8500 and love it...wouldnt trade it for a V1 anyday
