everyone in a tc wants to race
or so everyone thinks...
im on 81 south in PA a few hours ago going through a work zone and the car in front of me is a acura hatchback with an exhaust and body mods, and hes driving at the speed limit exactly 55. the work zone ends and i accelerate to my typical highway speed 75...slowly and he does the same but stays in front of me i naturally thought nothing of it, then he slows down looks over speeds up and drives away with his hazards blinking. not only do i not street race i don't even drive aggressive yet this happens all the time and im continuously baffled. people need to grown up and drive on public roads the correct way. one of the best things about the scion community is the general maturity you find.. at leas we don't have to put up with this in our own scene.
sorry for the random vet

speed up and cruise by my side, and then rev his fart can and repeat the process. I actually get quite
a few tCs like that. (Not to the extreme I mentioned earlier.) I guess since I have mods on my tC it gives
them an excuse to 'race' me. All I do is let them pass. Makes my life easier.
really? that's unfortunate..the few times Ive seen other modded scions on the road the encounters haven't been bad, and most people on here know to keep the racing off the streets. but then again you have to expect a few bad eggs,
The problem was you were in PA. I have people always messing with me in PA. I went home for a week, west PA. and I had more people looking at me and trying to race me in one week than I have had down here in MD for 6 months. I went to the auto parts store for glass cleaner, I had all the guys in civics and eclipses looking at me. Reving engines, blasting music and all. I was just washing my windows in the lot peacefully. I even felt like the older guys were expecting me to be a idiot like the rest of them.

those random vets! they are everywhere!
yeah....you were in PA....that was the problem.
I get that all the time, and just let them do their thing, that way when they take off and rev @ me, they're the ones that look like a d'bag, not me lol. Its even funnier when they pull up beside me and start to rev, then i just put my window down and wave, then they see that i'm a girl and just drive off normal like they were never trying to do anything. haha...funny as hell.

I get some of that from "kids" driving all kinds of cars, not just tCs.
Some people probably think I want to race because I usually drive fairly fast everywhere, but I don't want to race anyone, I simply want people to get the F outta my way.

Once again, I think it's less about the car you drive and more about the person you are. Some tC/Scion drivers are horrible about needing to "prove themselves" by driving like they don't have good common sense, while others are perfectly content to enjoy their cars without the huge chip on their shoulders about trying to prove the worth of their driving prowess and/or car. Everywhere you go there are going to be people who have nothinig better to do, or nothing more going on in their lives worth investing their time in, than act like complete putzes.
Just enjoy your car, think of others when you drive and the well-being of you both, and don't sweat the knuckleheads. Life's too short, and being faster in the car than the person next to you ain't winning you any awards you'll be taking to the grave, as a result of poor decision-making on the road.
^^ That may be the 34-year-old talking in me though.

your absolutly right just bacause you have a faster car and can beat someone doesnt mean anything the more you make the car faster them more chance of getting killed or something..
enjoy the car everyone is different

On the streets it's more about smart driving than fast driving.
For example:
You could be going 100mph on a completely straight road, but you could also veer off to the left and hit a tree, while I cruise on by going slightly over the speed limit.
Therefore, I won the race to the end of the road.
See how that works?
I'm 17 and in highschool and I think the kids who drive the Audi or Lexus mommy and daddy payed for and rev their engines are the coolest kids in the school.
God, I wish I was them.

i think we all wish our parents can buy us those cars..im seeing many kids are now into the luxury stuff rather then sports cars i guess there getting old...its always good to have one luxury and one sports if you can afford it..
Well I have no problems with Scions back home for the most part. Today I was driving into town where I go to College and these kids that go to the local HS(bunch of rednecks) were in the parking lot with a tC. It was an 08-09 FM with horrible painted stockies and nothing else. They started yelling at me that theirs was better and to come get some. Of course I didn't do anything.
