Default Which exhaust is the best for the xb?

Just wanted anyones advice on this. Also is there going to be any hidden problems after the install is finished? I had a big matter w/ my Injen CAI. Thanks

It depends on your personal preference. Too many brand names to list; 5Zigen, RSR, Magnaflow, Borla, Precisionmuffler, Injen, etc. I would perhaps take a look at the site Stylis posted.

The best exhaust for your car I think is based on how you want it to look. I am not so keen on mufflers at the end of the pipe on these cars. I would rather build my own setup and use a highflow muffler in the stock location and build my own tips. I will probably use a pair of 4" squared tips side by side .excess should look cool on the car.

Yes on the muffler! Hell no, on the tips he was talking about! There is not enough room on the stock bumper for dual square tips. :D

oh yeah.. I didn't mean the tips, I just meant a real muffler in the stock location.

Not enough room , eh? I guess I will have to show how it's done then. And I bet you I can get it done for under $300 custom.

Of course, that would be the Stylis manifold back system.

thats the dyno with the exhaust only, no intake or anything else. :D But for an exhaust under 300.00 I would recomend the PrecisionMuffler.com axle back.

Default exhaust

nick,
i went a differant route.i purchased an greddy muffler then i went to a local shop and had the pipe from the axle to the muffler fabricated. find someone with an mandrel bend machine and they shoul be able to do it. total cost with muffler, stainless fab pipe, hangers (factory type and locations) was right at $ 110.00 dollars. i run it w/out the silencer for the sound.not ricey at all. nice deep tone and good power.i allso have a set of megan racing headders i installed which helps in the hp/torque department.
haven't gotten the cai yet. most likely will get aem from toyota. hope this is helpful ?
i also installed the borla axle back on my wives xB .nice easy fit and sounds good, performs well. a little pricey at $ 300.00 dollars though.

good luck, george

magnaflows are kinda garbage. i got a custom made cat back all 2 inch system with a 2 inch cherry bomb as a resonator and then i finished it off with an a-spec 3.5 inch straight cut tip muffler . nice sound with tip on or off. good tone. i love it i knew the guys at the shop so total only cost me 100 including the muffler. i also have the megan racing header and the aem 21-567 aem intake. its a really really nice ___ setup. and total only cost me like hmmm..... 130 for header , 100 for exhaust and 207 for intakle so not bad huh? so thats like 337. nice. i have additional mufflers for sale different brands and styles . pm me
