Default Exhaust Question...

Is the "Borla Cat Back Exhaust" the same as the TRD Exhaust that everyone is ordering. Because I was building my tC on scion.com and was looking for the exhaust and all I saw was the borla one... so....

Also... How much HP Gain do we recieve from the new exhaust?

No, the TRD is an axle back, which 1 won't give you as much performance and 2 won't sound as good. The Borla is better.

Magnaflow is offering free exhaust if you let them prototype the exhaust. Takes about 5 working days... http://www.magnaflow.com/10projectve...totyping.shtml

people need to get their facts straight

just because its an axle back doesn't mean its crap

it sounds better than most exhaust and it gives more performance than most exhaust on average

where the hell are you getting your info from?
and borla makes the trd exhaust

Agree. The TRD exhaust is excellent. I have enjoyed every second hearing that nice brrrrrrrrrrr. The Borla is probably good also but I chose to have the "approved" TRD version.

Anyway you look at it, definitely get the exhaust upgrade.

Good luck backing that up... The TRD doesn't put out as much power, trust me, I've seen numerous dyno's.

from a previous post of mine:

"that all depends on manufacturer.

HKS made their Dragger exhausts axle back, yet they made the most power for the IS300, more than full catbacks like Greddys Evo I/II... actually i think ALL the axle backs (HKS, NUR SPEC, LTuned, R. Millen) were better than the cat backs out there.

axle back is NOT a bad design for an exhaust. cat backs are NOT the best exhausts. the dyno is where the truth will come out."

i've seen TRD exhausts dynoed as well for the celica... looked pretty good to me.

when it comes down to it, maybe it will put out ONE or TWO more hp... and you won't feel it anyway.
