Farthest I've gone on one tank of gas...
So several weeks back, Scinergy GA went on a mountain drive. We had a great time, got a little lost, but drove through some fantastic scenery. Anyway, the pace we kept was much more sedate than I am apt to do because of the caravan aspect of it. Average speed was between 65 and 70 mph, and my tach never read higher than 3000 RPM. Going into this drive, I'd already driven about 100 miles in my normal manner (not fast, but can be a bit spirited) anyway, long story short, that single tank of gas took me 375 miles. I had just put my SRI and Cold Air Box, no headers yet. When I refilled, I topped off with about 13 gallons, so that meant I still had about a gallon or so worth of gas. Anyway, I've seen this post on the xB forums so I was curious as to what the best numbers fellow tC drivers have gotten. If this is a repost or was covered in a prior thread, my apologies, I did try to search but nothing popped.
The best I have done ws on a rount trip from Boston to NYC, got 351 miles before the light came on and the car took about 12.9 gallons. So that was 27.2mpg...... not too bad i guess considering i dont exactly baby my AP.
I am almost at about 360 miles right now on this tank and the light just came on. I am ganna push it as far as I can to see how many I can get. Not bad mpg's for living in the mountains and climbing steep hills constantly.

my last tank was at 385 when the light came on and it took a little under 13 gallons, overall I have averaged 27.5mpg over the first 5000 miles. My best milage was 31.5mpg so could have gotten over 450miles on that tank. And that is with the 5-speed.

It seemed like the best superlative to use. I guess I could also have used "furthest" which is nearly synonymous, but I think that that has a more abstract connotation to it.
Nice reference to Seinfeld Mr. Nuts. It is uncanny how many real life situations have relavence to that show. I just watched the one where Jerry shaves his chest and keeps goin lower to get it even and shaves it all, then turns into the wolfman at the end.... thats just great! lol
i always fill up b4 i reach the 1/4 mark, but my best mpg so far is 287 miles with 10.43 gallons of gas, avg of 27.13mpg. my overall average is 24-25 mpg and i have an auto. i guess i have one of the less fuel efficient tC then.
With 3 adults in the car and cruising at 75mph I got over 460miles on one tank. That was my best. Overall I get around 260. I do a lot of short distance, city driving + warm up the car every day.
i never run my car tank past the second to the last line. i always warm up my car and i frequently make trips to and from san francisco since i go to school there. i get about 270 miles on a tank but i will have a full bar left. how many gallons is each line on the tank meter anyways.

First time I filled the car up after the initial fill from the dealer, I had driven 290 miles and filled it up with 11.76 gallons. So, for a city drive of 6 miles every day (3 miles to work, 3 miles back) and almost zero highway miles, i got about 24.5mpg on the first go around.
If i can keep it between 23-25 in the city, im extremely happy. On the highway, im sure i can get 25+.
