Default Few questions if you guys dont mind... :)

Here it goes, might be stupid, but im a noob lol

1. How often do i need to change spark plugs? // How do/can i tell that they need to be changed?

2. What is a Torque Dampner? // What does it do exactly? // Do I need one for an Auto tC?

3. I heard today that tC stands for TurboCoupe, is this true? // And if so, can I chip the turbo?

4. How come my tC doesnt have the hatch cover, meaning the thing that i can pull toward me and hook it on the sides in order for the top not to be seen, like the cloth cover that rolls up into a tube when not used, and i can pull it towards me to close the visibility of whats in my trunk? (sorry if confusing)

5. If I were to get a T/C or S/C, how does the MPG vary? // By alot or little? // How many miles per gallon approx is the difference?

Sorry for all these question, i hope someone will answer at least one by one question lol

the spark plugs i don't think need to be changed for quite a while

a torque damper keeps the engine from moving so much

it means touring coupe

i guess you bought it used if it didn't come with the cover cause brand new they do, look ebay or dealer for one

i'm getting pretty good milage out of mine, it's N/A, no turbo or SC. i just have the torque damper and an intake and i'm getting around 27-31 mpg.

1. look in your service manual, i think it is every 100k miles when you get a tune up.

2. it limits the engines movement during engine torquing to keep the power going to the wheels. you don't need one, it is only handy if you do stuff like drag race your tc, and the auto tc is no dragster.

3. tc stands for touring coupe. that is the official name from scion. other peopel say it stands for turbo charged, turbo coupe, toyota celica, today's celica etc. a turbo isn't a chip. there are not chips for the tc. anything you do see is basically lies and garbage that doesn't do anything. you can turbocharge the tc, but it is expensive and not to be taken lightly.

4. the tc should have a cargo cover for the hatch. they all come with one, and it is easily removable, i'm guessing that either you lost yours, or you bought yours used and they didn't give it to you. but you should have a cargo cover, all scions comes with them.

5. usually mile per gallon goes down about... 3 mpg i think with the trd supercharger. also, you have to use 91 octane gas instead of the usual 87 octane.

see i just took off my 19 chrom rims, so we'll see my gass milage now, but with them on and my intake and my pedal to the metal driving most ive gotten was 209 per full tank, which is rediculous!!!! idk why it cant be thatttttt bad lol so idk wtf is going on, but now took off my 19's, so all i got left is the intake and the exhaust that i will be putting in in about a week or two, so we'll see than, hope my gass milage will be 27-31 now that im without the heavy rims

as for spark plugs, idk if they were ever changed, but i have an 05 tC, with 34K on it, so idk...? is it time to change or no?

and for the hatch cover, wat do i search for on ebay? does it have a name?

no, your spark plugs are fine.

yes, heavy wheels hurt mpg, so does intake, and heavy throttle input. exhaust doesn't hurt mpg.

and the cargo cover is called a tonneau cover, and it costs $217. 28 new from www.trdsparks.com, as seen here:

http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...=1&catalogid=2

guess if you don't have one, try to find one online, or maybe one from a totalled tc in a junk yard.

isnt that the thing that pulls up and down when u put the seats down and up, isnt that the thing that supports the back seat, because that i have, i dont have the thing that pulls back to cover the whole trunck on top, like a sheet that comes out, that covers the top view of the trunk

it's not like that on the tc. it doesn't pull out like ur saying. it clips onto the headrests and snaps on the side of the hatch.

We have iridium tipped spark plugs so they last a long time! A great site to read up on iridium tips in general, and as they state, most OEMs are good for 120k miles before changing. I assume, since our car is 100% Japanese that the OEM plugs are Denso which makes excellent products and very trustworthy, so I'd go with a really high life span on the plugs. Probably wouldn't be a bad thing to change them at 75-100k range IMO

well idk about leaving them in for that long. i had car i tried changing them in after it had high millage on it and one of the plugs seized to the head and broke off inside. so idk if i'd wait till 100k, maybe 50k or 75k.

It does say to change your spark plugs every 100k plus, but in actuality it should be every 15k or if you don't drive it much 30K. Works better and keeps things in better shape. Though if you check them and the tip is still in good shape and they are not rusty or burnt looking all over you are good.

i don't think there are any car that need to change spark plugs every 15k.
