Default First exhaust install *added pics on page 3*

I am about to install my first exhaust this Sat (Tanabe Concept G). I took a look at a DIY and it looks pretty easy.

Any advice for a first timer?

not much advice needed... it's a straight forward install.

(unbolt, remove from hangers, install new exhaust)

use some WD40 or silicone spray on the hangers so it's easier to pull the exhaust out of the hangers

so wd40 put a sheet down so you don't get derrty. and take off the bolts. and pull them off the hangers. take a flathead screwdriver and pry off the hangers while pulling them out.

when removing the exhaust, i would take off the hangers first,, but put it back half way, so that you can unbolt the exhaust w/ it hanging, and then just slip the hangers off of the metal hook thing.

you will find out that dw40 is your best friend
after spraying, wipe up whatever drips onto the ground so you dont put your head in a puddle of the stuff.... nastiest feeling ever

I was looking over the following DIY:

http://www.clubsciontc.com/forum_thr...all-Guide.html

After reading and looking at the pics, it seems pretty easy

Although, it looks like there are 3 rubber hangers - 2 of which will re reused (to an extent). One looks like will not be - do I take it off the car, or leave the rubber piece there?

If you jack the car up to get under it use a jack stand to support the car or put wood under tires and jack it back down.........never climd under a jacked up car.....

when i did mine we actually took the exhaust off the car (including the hangers) first.
Its alot easier to remove the hangers from the stock exhaust if its off the car.

You don't need WD40.

I actually used Pam instead.

if you look on the side skirts of the car you can actually see little arrows indented into it. those are the jack points.

Should it be on the lip like this:

Also, where can the main hydro jack go? Can it go under the rear suspension?

yea that looks right.
theres 2 points on each side, there should also be an arrow toward the back end of the side skirt where you can put the other jack.
make sure you get it on that metal like rail and not on anything plastic

yes the rear can be used in the center for the jack and if you have a big enough jack you can lift it to get the stands in on the points shown earlier.....if jack not big enough then use the lift point at the side and stick the stand in on the frame........

Look up at that picture.

See that weird looking upside down U shaped thingy hanging downwards?

That's where you put the jack to lift your car.
