Default First Gen Scion tC Engine Immobilizer light Blinking issues

Hello:

Hey guys my battery died on Sunday (not the first time) normally it happens if I dont start the car for more than 4 days, but surprisingly it happen after 1 day.

I got a jump. car ran fine.

I come home, i park it and now the immobilizer light (the light that has a the car logo with the key inside) keep blinking.

when i left work at 8pm i did not notice if the light was blinking.

The car starts up fine. but I now cant remember if the light always blinked or if it only blinked for a few minutes, or it always blinks when the car is off and locked.

I locked the car, stood outside for 5 minutes and it just kept blinking.

I dont want the battery to drain again, so i want to know if this is normal?

If anyone has their tC, can you guys check if the light is blinking if the car is off and locked? if not when you start the car, shut off, lock it, how long does the light blink for?

Thanks!

so to recaps:

Does the light blink when the car is off and locked? if yes for how long (if it goes off at all)

How long does the light suppose to blink for?

when is the light suppose to blink?

Thanks!

FYI - I am 90% sure the light never blinked before when the car is locked and off.

reading in other toyota some people noted that the light never blinked (when off and locked) and out of no where it started blinking (when off and locked).

so, i hope I dont sound crazy haha.

Also its a 2005 scion tc with 109K.

I drove the car sat, had it parked all day sunday and monday, 9am the car would not start. All the lights worked. the internal clock was reset but the headunit prefixes remain intact.

hhmmm.

so went out to car at 7:40am and the car started up fine, seem that whatever was draining the battery, i may had found the issue.

but! the immobilizer light was not blinking.

so it seems it does have a timer.

After I started the car, shut it off, locked it, now its blinking.

My friend has a Tc, she checked hers at around 10:30pm, and it was blinking. she got home around 8pm. so it was parked and locked for 2 and 1/2 hours.

so what up?

can anyone else check this?

is your immobilizer light blinking 24/7? or does it turn off at any point (how ever long that is).

Thanks guys!

is the immobilizer light located to the bottom-left of the HVAC rotary dial? if yes, mine blinks (quick flash every 1-2 minutes) 24/7 when the key is out and doors are locked. I have a 2006 tC with 87K miles. Earlier this year I left my car at an airport parking lot for 3 days. The light was blinking when I came back.

yeah..but mine only blinks for a set "hours" this morning come out to car and the light was not blinking at all.

read in some toyota forms (toyota nation) that some people's light (immoblizer light) dont blink at all.

some say that the light never blinked (when car is off and locked) then out of no where it started blinking (when off and locked)

Mine only blinks when i first turn off the car, but then after X number of hours, it stops blinking all together.

thanks for the help.

Maybe I'm just crazy or maybe there is an electrical drain and causes the light to stop blinking?

oh and FYI the whole issue or reason for the tread was that when I lock the car (prior to batt dying) the light would blink, and then stop blinking and stay off.

now it blinks for a while (x number of hours) then turns off. Thats why i noticed it, because it never blinkd before for that long.

it wouldn't make sense for the light to stop blinking after a certain amount of time. the light is supposed to be a theft-deterrent warning indicator, like a car alarm's blinking light.

even if that light blinks erratically its still only a small led light, and that makes no sense why it would kill your battery...i think you are over thinking this one. how old is your battery? is there corrosion on the terminals? and is there anything specific about your car that you know would be causing the battery to drain? 4 days is very quick for a battery to die

I'm a retard, but between a scangauge, my Ipod being connected 24/7 to the headunit, amp, stereo equipment, led lights (inside, engine bay) something is probably draining the battery.

Battery is 3 years old, Opitima red top. The good thing is that it takes a sec to jump it and once jumped the battery operates at normal volts as if nothing ever happen.

I disconnected a lot fo things, and i now disconnect the ipod just incase.

Also i notice that the trunk light (left side of trunk) was 1/2 on/off, never used that light but may seem as if maybe since it was 1/2 on/off maybe it was just pulling power from it.

no corrosion on the terminals

Also 3 sets of HID lights, but those are off (head lights, VRD lights, and OEM Fog lights)

so far no issues.

Thanks everyone the assistance.
