Default First Problem Ever on my tC....

Aoite guys for the past few weeks, my passenger side low beam kept on going out. Didnt know why because when i just gave the socket a wiggle then the light would come back on. So from there i thought it was just a connection problem. Then i decide to just check the harness or where the OEM socket is and found out that it had melted the crap out of itself and my nokya bulb. My question is, is it hard to replace the oem socket or is there more to that?? Any help would be much appreciated.
Its crazy because the driver side harness is fine so im stumped on why this happend on the passenger side.

nokya 80w.......to much heat for the poor socket, you can just get one off a junker in a yard and splice it in,nothing to worry about, dump the 80w bulbs to keep the other one from going as well.

you might be able to slap in the stock bulb and take it to the dealer. depending on how much they investigate your harness they might or might not do it under warranty. my harness did that but with a sylvania silverstar. i dropped my car off one morning and got it that same day after work.

Im afraid of takin it there i dont want to get charged up the a$$ since its electrical but i might take it over there warranty or not. But im also thinking about calling them up and ask them how much for a new socket and just install it myself.

Just called the dealership today and they quoted me for the socket only for $12,80 and if i have them install it, its going to be $98 + tax which will probably be $100 something. Thinking about installing it myself but then again not too sure.

It wouldn't hurt to try to get it repaired under warranty first before you spend money.

I doubt theyll fix it under waranty since the lights are aftermarket and its not at the preffered wattage.

thats a easy fix, happend to me awhile back. just go to autozone and buy a new socket for your headlight. splice the old out of there, put the new one on there and waallaa your done. takes like 10 mins.

im not surprise that happen.......when you buy those high watt bulbs for the low beam they recommed a special wire harness thats made to take the heat which bascially plugs into the oem plug then plugs into the bulb so this way nothing wil happen....i had that problem before but not that bad.....i have the nokya yellow high beams but i dont need the harness cause i hardley ever use them.....samething with HIDs you need a relay for them to properly work so it doesnt burn out the stock wires..

I went to autozone to try to buy the socket it said parts not available. So im guessing you can only buy at the dealership. The socket at the dealership doesnt come with the wires its just the socket itself. Sorry im dumb in electrical can you point out which one is the harness.
