Today was the day, that i got to go pick up my car from out of storage and drive it. it was such a good feeling. batteries dead, inspections run out, and have to get new tires on it, but its all worth it.

 

how come it was in storage?

i travel for work for 9 months with an entertainment company and its pointless to drive bc i travel by tour buses airplanes. so im only home for the summer. its an 07 and only has 14000 on it. its a baby.

 

congrats. i would have just removed the battery before hand so it doesnt die. but congrats on having a car again.

who do you work for?

 

Feld entertainment. It's the monster truck dirtbiking and bmx racing entertainment. Live nation motor sports own it and Feld bought it.

 

reccomendations for storage:

-remove battery from car/or at least the terminals
-jack up the car and put it on jackstands so the tires do not touch the ground.
-put a car cover over it that breathes well, and pop your sunroof/crack some windows.
-after you get back and the car has been sitting for more than 3-5 months change the oil before you drive it.
-let the car come up to temp. before driving it and go easy on it for the 1st tank of gas or so...

^only a little to keep the air crculation to keep it from molding. And if it is a good car cover it shouldn't make a difference. I guess also I am assuming storage like in a secured bulding as well.

 

it was stored over the winter in my grandmothers heated garage while they were in florida. i forgot to disconnect the battery, and i did crack my windows a bit.

yeah took mine out cuz i startef bringing stuff home from college. mine is in storage all school year to. 07 17000 miles lol. but i commuted a year with the car before i got a beater and lived on campus . my batt was dead also but i jumped it drove it around my block a few times and it was fine. ill be driving that bad girl after finals all day

 

I wish I had a beater while I was at school. Then I would have a few less door dings. But I would miss my car too much!

 

its in the shop till tuesday for the inspection so i dont have a car until then but all day tuesday when i get it ill be driving it.

 

nice nice. i'm envious. i can't wait to drive mine again.

haha its already planned but not planned since its a "pointless" road trip haha.
im driving to wheeling, wv tonight for my buddies bands show. its a 2.5 hour drive so its kind of a road trip.
