You can always paint them but you don't even really need hood pins. I went tons of miles with the cf hood on my xB and never once used hood pins.

An xB can't move fast enough to lift a cf hood up...

lol that is true...

The way the tC hood is angled though it seems the air flow would keep it down you know.

At about 70-80 mph I would see lift, lol.

It might also be the angle/direction of the wind though.

=P

You're right though, aerodynamically the tc has a much better shape.

ilovemytc: is it me or is the hood not that shiny? it looks like towards the middle where the vent is at, its kinda dull... it looks like the clear coat faded... i know it might be the way you took the pics, but there not much reflection on that part while towards the front, it has some reflection. too bad though that hood pin is already there... u couldve gotten the flush mount hood pins and put it towards the side more...

to everyone else, you think that the way they designed the tc is aerodynamic, but you can never be too sure that it will not pop up on you. i would still run it with hood pin if i have a cf hood... for your safety.

thank you all for your input...I am going to attempt re-clearing the hood myself and as for the hood pins, the hood came like that and I plan on painting them black.

that is the whole reason why I posted teh pic, because I bought this hood used and it needs to be re-cleared. I was inquiring the FM cult's opinions on if I should keep it and clear, or it's a hassle and go back to stock.

after two hours of sanding and buffing, I am tired! here was the outcome...just worked on the middle as that was the worse part of the hood. I think it can be saved! Oh yeah, and a little customizing with the RS2.0 grille. I'll work on the hood more tomorrow, I'm pooped!:
