I would very much appreciate some help. My son and I installed after market JDM fog lights on his tC. The wiring instructions say the fog lights should only come on when the low beams are on and should shut off when the highs are engaged. The problem is the fog lights are able to turn on without any headlights or parking lights being on and the fog light switch constanly glows even when the car is off.

This is what the instructions said to do: Find the power line of the parking lamp and connect the red wire (positive) of the main switch wiring harness.

So I found the brown wire with silver dots which I believe is the parking lamp and connected the red positive from the fog light switch wiring harness. The power is always available to the fog lights even when the car is off. The fog light switch turns the fog lights on and off even when the car is off.

What am I doing wrong? Am I connecting on the wrong side of the parking lamp switch so the wire is always hot? How does connecting to the parking lamp result in the fog lights turning off when the high beams are turned on??

2 ive never seen any claim that they work like OEM lights. they are stand alone.
3 switch the switch power wire to an acc wire (there are 2 power wires with the fogs, a fog power and a switch power)
4 post in the right section.
5 THERE ARE NO JDM PARTS FOR THE tC. I have these lights also, they are not JDM, they are not VRD knock offs, i dont know wtf they are but i like them :o

 

Like stated above, switch the the pwr sourse to acc not a constant.
