I have a 2007 tc. For almost a week now, my car has had a horrible smell when I drive. I've sprayed Lysol and another odor disinfectant along with bleach to get the smell out. I've searched the inside of my car to investigate the smell and can't figure out what it could be. A friend said it could be my catalytic converter. Could this be it? Please help

 

The cat can smell like rotten eggs when it goes bad.

 

either cat or evap system. both smell like rotten eggs.

 

To be honest it smells more like something dead mixed with antifreeze. I smell it more when I drive with my windows down, which I find weird.

 

Are you melting a cat under the hood on the valve cover?

 

Idk!!! My friend washed my engine pulled my back seats out and still can't find what it is. But I believe it's something dead because I now have these big ___ flies coming out of nowhere. I'm now wondering is something dead where my spare is. I've never opened that compartment. I'm confused though

 

I have seen mice chew into a 12v power wire at the fire wall and get fried...Then again, have you ever seen that movie "Grumpy Old Men"? One old dude put a raw fish in the back of his friends SUV and he didnot find it till the smell got extremely horrid!!
When I was a kid we would stuff raw fish/shrimp inside friends hubcaps during summer...
Hope it's not in the A/C duct works, that is a pain to pull out and clean....
