What kind of camera do you have?

 

Rebel XTi.....which I know nothing about & just spent a grip of money on a bunch of stuff (lenses, UV filters, remote, tripod, bag, etc...). I'm taking a beginners SLR photography class this semester though.

Aw, haha. I thought about going to CSUCI. I wanna move near Ventura county. I used to be there all the time, still go about once a week. I'll be there tomorrow for a friends going away party on Main St. Why's your tC not with you?

The lenses I got aren't even that expensive. My most expensive one was $249.99, & that was my macro lens, then I got a wide angle lense, & a basic 50mm 1.8.

 

My friend just broke his 40d. He was in Hawaii, taking pics, slipped on a rock with algae on it, & BAM! bye bye $2500.

@ the broken camera. that really sucks.

The classes here are fantastic. Small class sizes and the teachers all come from high-caliber schools like UCSB, UCLA, and Cal Poly to name a few. Although, the school REALLY lacks in the activities and food department. There's only 1 cafeteria. I was seriously in the middle ordering dinner last night and the power went out and they stopped serving food for the night, so I starved. And it's boring as hell without a car around here. There's hardly anything to do on campus.

My parents didn't seem to think I needed a car, but after the first week of me telling them how it was here, they finally realized they should've listened to me. I'm heading home on the weekend of the 20th and bringing the car down though, so I'm happy.

I only have 2 lenses to play with, my 18-55 and a 70-255 telephoto, so the more, the better. I want a wide angle...

The 50mm 1.8 for the canon is the cheapest lens they make, & has the most bang for the buck. It was only $85. Only downside is the mount is plastic so it probably won't last as long, but meh, I'm sure you'll get the money's worth for $85.

 

Yah it's one of the cheaper lenses for Nikon too. It's made the same way as your Canon one too. I really want the 50mm 1.2 but it's like 300 dollars haha

 

50mm 1.2 for a normal camera is $1400 from Canon! The 1.4 for an EOS is $500. =X

A photography hobby is almost as expensive as a car hobby! SO MUCH FOR MY 'SAVING MONEY HOBBY'.....haha.

 

Haha seriously. I have 2 cameras and 5 lenses and 2 tripods lmao. So ridiculously expensive. Between cars, photography, and cycling, I'm always broke!

 

Story of my life. I've been broke for the past year. Dumping thousands and thousands (20k+) on a 17k car was not smart within a 10 week period. One of my biggest regrets, but you live and learn, & lenses don't really depreciate like cars do.

I'm $700 away from having my tC paid off, which will in turn mean my xB will be paid off soon after (with the money I sell the tC for).

Uh oh! Insurance?! My tC's covered for the full $65,000. I took it to the insurance office, where the underwriters came out & they took pics and have copies of all my receipts and everything.

I'm going to be permanently in debt, haha, I love cars too much. Once the xB's paid off, I'm saving up for a bit & getting myself an Evo X. ;D
