Default Gap in the sunroof: Problem Solved!

Well this is how it goes, I run into a problem with the sunroof on my 06 tC...The dern thing won't close completely from the back...so i take it to the great people of scion twice and they can't fix it, so i fixed it myself....If anyone has a problem with their sunroof not sealing all the way down when closed, just unplug the battery and let the computer(Windows/Sunroof) reset itself. Problem Solved!

so you basically re-initialized the sunroof system and it works fine.. isnt' that funny though, the so-called "experts" at the dealer couldn't even figure out that the computer needed to be re-intialized! congrats on the find! a lot of people are having this and it shows that the dealer never really initialized the sunroof in the correct way! good info!

I don't have a tC, but I've worked on a few Toyota sunroofs. However, I noticed that the sunroof control for the tC looks a little different. . . I'm curious, but on older generation Toyota Sunroofs (even up to 2001), they had manual adjusters, behind the domelight/sunroof control panel. It's primary use was for stuck sunroofs (having lost power), and as an emergency manual close for the roof. Is one still there?

Someone can verify until I can get to the manual but I thought there was a page in the manual on how to manually close the moonroof if it sticks!

I tried your suggestions and it worked. Disconnected the negative terminal an gave it around 15 seconds and connected the negative terminal back and the sunroof closed. THANK you.
