I read the reviews about the 2015 Scion TC before I bought the car. There were a few posts about what people did not like about the car. One of the issues was the road noise.

I partially solved the road noise problem and in doing so made the radio sound better. The TC comes with two large pieces of glass on the top of the car with just a very thin screen to keep the sun from shinning through. I took two pieces of 1" thick foam and placed them in the area between the sun shield and the glass. The road noise has gone down and also in doing so the sound system sounds better. These pieces of foam are easily taken out and placed in if I ever want to open the sun screen or Moon roof. I can simply take them out and put them in the trunk area.

Even a convertible rag top has more padding than the thin sun screen and it does not have any large reflective surfaces to amplify the sound right above them.

No, I am one of the few people around that do not have a smart phone or digital camera.

But, this is simple, there is a lot of space between the sun shield and the glass on both of the glass roofs. I just took some upholstery foam one inch thick and placed that in between the screen and the glass. But, this simple thing really made a difference in how much road noise gets into the car.
