what MPG are you getting? What MPG are you supposed to get? Maybe it could be your driving style or a lot of stop and go...? Are you hauling a trailer full of concrete behind the tc? Going uphill both ways?

tell the girls to quit super sizing their combo meals. Will also save you at least $.49.

What mileage is the tc supposed to get?
Also, I'm pretty sure the MPG estimates are unrealistic considering our speed limits. I think they are calculated using 55 or 65mph, but not certain.

Why don't you actually calculate it and bring back some numbers on what kind of mileage you're REALLY getting. Our gas tank is not the biggest, so maybe it's just your imagination.

my first two tanks im getting 19~20 mpg, letting the car warm up fully, and short drives to work and home. i'm waiting to see if this will improve after 1000 miles.

it should improve as the car breaks in, but letting it warm up will KILL gas mileage, so its to be expected in the wintertime. When spring rolls around, you should be fine.

I agree. If you are letting it warm up, then you are just burning the fuel and getting no milage.

Warm-up=0 mpg.

If there was a way you could calculate that factor out while still letting the engine get warm then I bet you would be closer to 25-26 and then improving as it breaks in.

I got 24mpg off my first tank. About 50/50 highway and in-town driving. I have noticed tho, that I need to adjust my highway speed, as 75mph in this car is 3500 rpm and that sucks the gas down. Hopefully this will adjust as it breaks in.

Average for 5000miles 25.5, best - 31, worst 23. Can't complain for a 2.4L and the way I drive...

Give the car some time to break in. When we bought my moms car and it has 2miles on the clock the gas milage was horrid.

Now that its around 2000 miles its gotten a lot better.

The reason the manual tC's get worse gas mileage on the highway is because the way the gears are set up. I'm sure everyone with the manual transmission first gasped at how high the RPMs were when driving 70mph on the highway. What was it... 3k RPMs at 65 MPH in 5th gear? Yikes.
