Well i set the trip odomoter to zero at the pump the last two times. I drove it until the needle was just about level with the bottom line, so i figured it was almost empty. matt_a i'll try your suggestion i guess and see what happens. Heliotropic to answer your question i havent even attempted to put my drums in my tC. I have a 11 piece set, bass drum, 2 rack toms, floor tom, snare, high hat, ride cymbal, crash/ride cymbal, crash cymbal, two splash cymbals.

I've driven it until the needle was BELOW the bottom line, and it still only took 13 gallons, meaning that I still had 1.5 gallons left. Guessing that you're empty is NOT the way to determine gas mileage...

Yeah, i should have a good time trying to fit all of mine in my ride. I can fit all of the drums for sure (if i fold down all of the seats), but i'm pretty sure i'm going to have to find someone else to tote the hardware.

Yea, one time, I got 76 mpg because I used 110 octane gas true story for real not kidding at all. :D

...

Higher octane resists detonation, nothing more. Once in a while a station will throw in some extra additives, but they seldom do anything noticable.

Ummm...no, you wont.
Ummm yes you will. You will be about $.20/gal lighter in the wallet. Less weight=better mileage. Actually I cant believe people actually believe that stuff.

I just drove mine from Colorado to California and back. My mileage was actually better on the 85 octane they sell at high altitude (about 31mpg highway versus 29). I usually get about 28 mpg on a mix of freeway and city driving.

My g/f put in 10.2 gallons and drove 327 miles on the 1st fillup. Averages to be about 32 MPG. Damn thats pretty good lol.

Lets put it this way. I drive about 60% Freeway (if not more). And i'm usually at 250-270 miles. This is when i practically drain the tank. Once i filled up the tank at 14.3 gallons. and a couple times at 14.2 and 14.1. I do drive aggressively though.

The main thing is how you drive. If i take it easy i can a good 340-350 miles on a 14.5 gallon tank since i drive mostly on the freeway.

Ok question guys where should i shift for daily driving i always shift at 3,000rpm. if heard different stories from people like shift at 3,000 then i hear from a friend to shift at 3,500 cause shifting earlier is a waste of power. where should i shift for daily driving???

Your not supposed to look at your RPM during daily driving. You should be able to tell when to shift by the sound of your car. Shift when you think its right. The sooner you shift the less power you have and more gas you save. If your racing you shift at redline.

I think that pretty much sums it up

I drive 70% highway. I average between 31 and 35 mpg. I keep revs under 3K rpm and i also throw the car out of gear. These cars can coast forever.

Very true. Driving a manual is all about feel and hear. Once you have driven one for quite some time you should be able to shift properly without seeing the tach or hearing the engine.

esp with the tC having pretty adequate low end torque you can shift them a little earlier than say hondas for example. i see a huge difference in low-end when driving the tc vs my integra.
