Default gauge cluster

has anyone thought of changing the bulbs on the gauge cluster from all amber to blue numbers with red needles? is that hard to do and take apart the cluster?

you need to re-solder LED's directly onto the circuit board, but there was a thread (actually many threads) on walkthroughs how to do it, step by step and the whole dash snaps into place, so if you really want to do it, go for it - it'll be worth it

I know as soon as I get my tC every LED on the dash is going to be blue, maybe white... amber just doesn't look good to me

they are LED's, soldered to the chip board...
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=28496

they are a different size than the xB though, they are approximately 3.5x2.8 mm. i believe there are 15 in the instrument panel, ive taken it apart to take a look and order LED's will post pix when im done...
as for the needles, they are colored amber, so ull have to strip the amber and paint it red, or in my case, white...

You do realize that blue lights will strain your eyes more at night.....and reduce ur night vision. Where as red/amber is the softest on your eyes.

But I think they are using the UV LED's to create that fourescent blue and red effect. UV LED's can be used as blacklight to create some pretty nice effects. And yeah, that was my "how-to" write up but it specifically applied to the xB's cluster. I haven't worked on the tC's gauge cluster but I would imagine it's similar. :D PM me if you need help on anything.
