Well springs almost here. Come March I'll put the rims back on, under body glow back on, get a CF hood, cf rear lip, and cf front lip. Oh yea. and fix my paint too. First off. I've got a bunch of little scratches all over my car. Most you won't catch your nail on, all they need is a professional buffing job. A detailing job should fix these right? If so, anyone know a good detailing place on the Island?

We got about a half an inch 6 yrs ago. Got some great pics of my palm trees with snow on top. Kinda corona commercial stuff. Scatches will usually come out with buffing and compound, though sometimes some real real fine sandpaper and a buff to bring back shine will work.

Yea I was using rubbing compound and scratchX on them and they do come out very slowly. However I kept finding more and more scratches so I figured I might as well just leave them alone and get them all done professionally one day.
If you can't catch your nail on them and they aren't too deep, ScratchX is good for small areas by hand, but to do the whole car well you're really going to need a buffer. It should be no problem for a good detailer to remove the scratches and swirls.
I'd also make sure your washing and drying techniques are good to minimize future swirling/scratching.

I ain't got any swirls that I see. One of the scratches I got actually trying to fix a rock chip. I was using some rubbing compound and a microfiber cloth. Well I guess there must have been a tiny rock or something rough in the cloth and it scratched the car a little bit. Then I started working on that scratch and fixed it fairly well, I got all the scuffs around it out and smooth. All that's left is something like 5 very fine marks, i think they should come out easily with that rotating buffer thing. After about 30 min of work just polishing that one spot I decided to not even bother since I was planning on getting a detail anyway. Most of the scratches are very minor. You really don't notice them unless you know its there so it shouldn't be a problem to fix.
I know someone that does this real well as a side job. He does all of Metro for the S2000 club. His name is Markus. He lives in Farmingdale. He does some AWESOME job!!!
Shoot me an email and I will get you his info.
