dont know about your roof, my dealership performed all the TSB's before I drove off the lot, which included loose moonroof type actions.

the stereo, hold the SSP button and use the up and down arrows to select either XA or XB, I find with XA and changing the settings, I can acheive the best results.

its not THAT great of a system. If you want it to go loud, swap out the speakers..

I have mine set on "xB" and it sounds fine to me. I usually don't go past 35 cause that's really loud compared to the "tC" setting. Do you have a subwoofer installed? Maybe your speakers are humming because they are carrying all the bass along with the mids & tweets.

hey jason.. i had a rattle, turns out the bass was too much for the rear panels.. I've turned mine way past 40.. up to about 45 in xB mode,hear.. bass at -2.. and it thumps the doors.. might have a bad speaker..

other's are right, it's not the BEST systems out there.. but if you can do the bass I'm doing I'd say that you probably should get a new speaker from the dealer.... is it just one or all of them? have you faded to see which one is the crackling one?

edit: also the sunroof does shake.. it's something we all have.. some of us try not to run it at highway speeds due to the risk of it shattering.. as some have had.. just letting ya know..

They don't suck. It depends one what you're playing and what the rest of the settings are. I'm on the tC SSP setting, with FEEL selected. Bass at +3 or +4 and treble at +5 and I can go up to 50 or so easily with iPod. No problems. Even with a CD, I could do the same easily over 40.

All stock audio.

I am always at 50-Max and I don't have any crackling whatsoever. The quality isn't the best but there defiantly isn't any crackling. I've heard a lot of speakers and I know good sound quality. Maybe I got a good set?

I heard that scion tc did not put any limit on the volume. They said something about other cars wanting the sound quality to stay excellent, so you couldn't really get it loud. Scion believes you should be judge of what quality is good for you, and so they allow to turn it up really high, so high where even teh quality can decrease. Of course, others say they have gotten it over 50 and it sounds good to them. Coulld it be your CD is bad or the recording is not perfect? by the way, could you please tell us if it is a 2006 or 2005? thanks.

i'd have them check for a short, and then have them check the speakers. stock system should be covered by warranty at least for one year.

Jasonbegin, it isn't the speakers that are the problem, it's the gayboy Techno/jazz you've been listening too. Switch ur toons up golddust.

The speakers are as good or better than most stock systems out there. Go aftermarket if you want loud. People seem to buy the tC and think that they should be able to rattle the windows out with the stock system, and then say it sucks when they cant. The system is nice for a STOCK system. No more, no less.

Bingo. This system is good for the people that like to just listen to their music with the windows up and have good clear quality. This system is not designed to wake your neighbors up when you're 1/4 mile from your house.

My other cars have after market speakers and subs. They sound better. But that's because I've put the money in to making them sound better. When I have time I'm building a box for the tC and slapping a sub in there. I'm not happy with the current (limited) amount of bass I can get from the stock system, so I'm going to fix it.

Agree. Don't know why some people think Scion would be in a $2000 sound system into a $16000 car?? The stock system is a A-/B+ for stock sound systems. If you expect to play your music extra loud, then you will need to spend extra dollars on speakers/HU, etc.

As far as the moonroof, take it back to the dealer and have then review and ensure all the TSBs have been done.

Congrats on car.

Kevin
