Default got my tC but i think im being taken for a ride ...

although i love my new tC, i am very dissatisfied with the service ive been getting, i dunno if its becuz im a first time car owner n dat im 20 or what but here's whats been goin on

1. after i bought the car, i went home n just went over more of the paper work, i saw the amount being financed and found a $1300 discrepency, the only options i got was auto trans, wheel locks, lojack ($700) and extended warrenty (800)., plus tax title docs etc. there is a document called a retail order or something which has all the pricing, msrp destination accessories etc. i added the lojack and extended warrenty at th end so my sheet was old. i've been requesting to get an updated sheet of that just to make sure where that $1300 is coming from. its been 2 weeks and nothing i keep asking and my finance manager is always busy and never giving me the time of day

2. i got a $25 gas card but when i went to the pump, the card had no money, so i told my salesman and again it goes through the finance manager and i add to please get that other document i requested, again i go there and nothing

3. ordered wheel locks, and what do you know, i realize i have no wheel locks, all the bolts are the same and there is no special key found in the trunk.

i'm at my wits end, i dunt know what to do, my salesman is nice but its like give me what i asked for ? and this finance manager, i cant stand him.. wut do u think i shud do? i feel like talking to my salesman would just be useless, everyone is gibing me the run around and i do not have the time spend my entire afternoon at the toyota dealership.. ne suggestions ?

Who knows, the whole auto industry is a con game. From the dealership, to auto parts, to the repair shop. But it could always be a honest mistake, so keep pushing them to resolve it.

i'd talk to anyone and everyone at that stealership. that's what we do when we can't reach someone or are getting the run-around.

just call and be like "i sure hope you can help me... this is my situation..." if someone doesn't get it cleared up or doesn't get back to you in a few hours, call and talk to someone else. eventually you'll have the whole dealership working on your problem. i'm sure it's annoying, but it's worked for us...

Check everything carefully... and if you have questions, absolutely go back.

Is the $1,300 in question the interest you will be paying to finance the vehicle?

Keep us posted. Not every dealer goes over paperwork thoroughly to explain what the charges are.

Call your dealership if you can't reach the finance manager ask to speak to the general manager one of the two should be able to expalin the discrepency "your age should not matter or the fact you are a first time buyer " . If all else fails call Scion customer service they can help you with resolving your questions if you can't get a good answer from your dealer .

Forget calling the dealer drive your ___ down there and sit in the finance mangers office and refuse to leave until he helps you. I did this when toyota screwed up the lease agremment on my wifes 4 runner. I kept calling and getting the run around yea sure he will call me back RIGHT ! I went down to the dealer and went right into his office and sat my ___ down and refused to leave until he corrected the paper work. guess what I was out of there 15 minutes later with corrected papers. Good Luck

RAISE HELL! Im telling you, no one will hear you, until you make them! Honestly, start out calm and polite (that usually works) and if still nothing, start yelling, and the best thing to yell out is, "Im contacting my attorney!" Just as an aside, what state are you in? because in certain states, once you sign a contract, youre screwed... like VA for example... so look into that... google, "contract law in (your state)"

While I take that comment as an insult, I would still like to help. You should visit the dealership yourself and put yourself in front of the general manager. Explain things to him in a calm and rational manner (even if you are mad and have a right to be, this works better in any situation than yelling). Let him know that you need this resolved yesterday. Get him to explain the paperwork himself, or have his people explain the paperwork completely, so nothing is missed. Do not leave until you have another gas card in your hand and either wheel locks or an answer from the parts dept. on when they will arrive.

While I know that there is a lingering stigma about this industry, remember that a stereotype about anyone or anything is an uneducated statement. In general, nobody is out to get you, and there is no conspiracy to "screw" as many of you guys as we can. There are few that are not doing things right, but quite a bit more that really do want to do things the right way.

That would be the best thing to do is talk to the head of finance directly and let them know that you are going to call scion relations directly about your situation and they should really bend over backwards from that point. They will do anything to not have you make that call because for us that means that they send out a scion rep to investigate and audit and all kinds of headache so that would be my advise. Usually your contract will show all the monies added together including any interest. So check carefully and have someone explain it to you. And if you ordered wheel locks and its on the order sheet or configurator then you should get those too. The number to scion realations is 1-866-70-scion. I hope this helps.

you shouldn't have driven it off the lot with out fully understanding what you were getting. i would drive it back to the dealership and raise hell allday untill they sorted it out.

Stereotyping isn't a good thing to do, however, car dealers have not gained this stereotype from decades of good buisness practices.. there is a reason for it and everyone knows it. Not all dealers practice like this and a lot of times a dealership may get a reputation just due to one sales person trying to screw someone which is unforunate.. but just out of curiosity, when some one comes in to your dealership and mentions Kia, Ford, or Hyundai... what is your response or the typical response. Probably something to the effect of "they are crap" or more politely, "they are unreliable automobiles"... that's a statement i've heard over and over and over and it's a stereotype backed by tons of customers who have had bad experiences with those vehicles.. not ALL kia's are unreliable, just like not ALL car dealers are crooks. Car dealerships as a whole have earned this bad reputation and honestly, at least in my opinion, rightly so.. until things dramatically change in the auto sales industry, the stereotype is not going to fade away and unfortunately the dealers who don't screw people will suffer as well. Buying cars should be a great experience, it's the second largest purchase most of us will ever make....too bad I've gotta take two tylenol before i even walk in the door of a dealership.
BTW: Out of the three scion dealers i went to, 2 of them flat out lied to get me into the dealership and fed me a bunch of crap when i was there. Wilde Scion was great by the way and I appreciate getting treated like a human being.

You and I both!

Next time you're at the DMV, at least here in California, request a copy of all the complaints, fines and license suspensions that the DMV has on file on these Car Stealers ... it will shock you!

today i finally got a hold of those involved and i even have a friend of mine who works at the dealer take a look into things. i spoke with the finance manager and he told me friday to call him to remind him because he was leaving work soon n that thursday is his day off. i also spoke with my salesman n he told me i can go into service and obtain the wheel locks. sicne the rims say scion im not that worried about them bein stolen unless its for another scion vehicle. so im giving them till friday to gib me the paperwork ive been requested.

the paperwork im requesting is the retail order which states exactly was added to the car and i am getting a 1300 discrepency. what im thinking they did was add a bunch of sht i neither need or asked for but i cant do anything about it since i signed for everything, the monthly payments are within my budget so im not that worried, 1300 would make it go down a couple of bucks a month. but the only thing i added was wheel locks for $70, lojack for 700 n extended warrenty for 800.

being a first time car owner, it had to happen to me, the good news is lesson learned, i do not think toyota are bad cars, its just bad service at my dealer. the way they b/s is just too much for me sometimes. my brother bought his celica from the same dealer n he had no problems but he told me service is good so i hope i can take his word.

thank you everyone for your input, i really think it was cuz im young, im 20 but look 18 so u kno they not gonna take a kid seriously, ironic for a brand aimed at my age group

so my advice for anyone esp first time buyers, review review everything, when you do the pricing look to see everything is there.. the reason i didnt see my 1300 discrepncy was that monthly payments was within the range i calculated so its not like im breaking my budget now.

Learned this lesson when we bought my GF a used 03 Corolla through a Ford dealership a while back (big mistake, dirt low price, and no probs with car for the 7 months she's had it!), and be nice at first, firm up over time, and if not raise hell, but not to the point where they call the cops ! Sorry you're getting jacked around, after the experience I had with my girl, I went there playing hardball, but my Scion guy (also my main fam's Toyota guy who's sold them 4 cars so) suggested not to get this and that, and was a nice guy who actually knew something about the car on top of it. GET what you PAID for.
