Got my VIN today!
Hooray! Got off the phone with my salesperson and he gave me my VIN. Said he expects my AP/5spd/SAB tC to be in within a week. Hooray! Been waiting approximately 3 weeks, so it looks like I should be able to take delivery within a month!
P.S. Anyone have a link or tips on decoding the VIN?

i got my vin from my sales person earlier this week. mine is in the 28700s. that is a pretty big gap from 026220. my tc should be on its way from portland.
i was wondering how to interpret the vin.
j=made in japan
t=manufacturer toyota
5: model year
not sure what the others mean. think there has to be somethign to do with the car type and model.
you can google it to figure out a little bit more.

Yea, there are some model specific numbers, which the decoders out on the internet don't have any info for. (Suprise)
That's what I was curious about, there should be something that is designating 5spd, something designating sab, etc etc.
As far as the VIN gap, that is odd. I don't know if mine was pure luck or that my dealer got rewarded and I got mine. I know there are some people who've had a AP/5spd/SAB preferenced before me, and I sorta feel bad about getting mine first, but i'm so excited now.
