Default Got a rock scratch on hood... is it fixable?

Ive had my car for about 4 months, when i went to wash my car today I noticed a big rock scratch that i thought was just smashed bugs.

Here's a pic

This is my first scratch and it is smack dab in the center of the hood about 4 inches up from the scion logo on the front of the car.

Should I attempt to use some kind of touchup paint or would that just make it worse?
Does it have to be repainted? How much would that run? Or should I skip the whole thing entirely since it will probably just happen again?

Anyways I'm pretty bumed. Let me know what you think.

Thanks guys.

Just be prepared to get many more of those. My front end is a mess from rocks, road debris, and last week's bird-strike.

that actually doesn't look too bad. I'd try some rubbing compound + Scratch X. Love scratch X.

Your lucky if thats your only scratch. Come live in NY where the salt in the winter destroys your paint. Thank god for wax. Theres no way you escaping flying rocks and debris in NY after the winters and all the plowing. Roads here suck. My hood and bumper get destroyed daily. I wax normally and use SCRATCH Doctor on my rock scratches though. Seems to work pretty good for surface mount scratched.
