Default grinding from 1->2 after installing the TWM

I just installed the TWM shoft shifter a couple of days ago. It feels great, but I have noticed that it's notchier. That's fine, but the notchiness seems to be causing me to grind gears when shifting from 1st into 2nd sometimes. And even when it goes in, if I shift too fast, it makes an unpleasant clunking sound and the shifter vibrates just a bit. This never happened with the stock shifter, probably because the stock one is looser. Has anyone else felt this? I do notice that if I shift slower, that this doesn't happen, but that kinda defeats the purpose of the short shifter. I took apart the console again last night and everything seemed fine in terms of the install.

i have not had any problems with mine, no matter how i shift, fast or slow. just make sure the clutch is in all the way when you shift, b/c now that your shifting faster you will have to push the clutch in faster. if it still does not work contact TWM they might know whats wrong

Did you make certain you put all the security bolt pins back in place? After I installed mine, I was ready to go for a test drive, but luckly, I decided to put away all my tools, and that's when I noticed I had forgoten to put back one of those security pins that prevents bolts from coming loose

So I took everything out again, and put the pin back in place. Than... I went out for a test drive. Never noticed anything wrong since I installed it.

It's normally a click, but sometimes it's a grind. Perhaps I'm just trying to shift too early. I do notice that if I take my time, that the shift is more or less smooth (just notchy).

Why does it seem like posts are disappearing from this thread?

I took apart the console again and couldn't find anything wrong. All the pins are there, nothing seems to be rubbing. When I shift it through the gears while the engine is off, the shifts seem fine. I think I just have to be a bit more careful with the 1->2 shift from now on. When I pay a bit more attention, it goes in 100% of the time, though if I shift fast, the engagement feels rattly. Oh well. Thanks everyone for the tips.
